You can do it now yourself. They use standard laptop harddrives (not pc hdds). The manual even explains how to replace the harddrive.
I can't see Sony intentionally screwing the consumer on a marginal 33% increased HDD, but I'd like to ask how they plan on selling the 60Gb model? Perhaps the 80 will take over the 60 pricepoint and the 60 will drop a few dollars and begin to phase out altogether.
Ah, thought it used laptop ones (My manual got wet and I threw it away, so I never read how to do it before I saw how small the hard drive was)
Guesstimate 2: Sony drop the 60GB model and sell the 80GB one (Euro model but with 65nm CELL) for $499 when HOME launches. Zing!
You do realize that a 80gb laptop drive costs more than a 120gb regular size drive (like in a 360) right?
HOME is an Aug/Sep release supposedly. A $100 drop with the kind of software and an extra 20GB to store it in is feasible IMO.
