    Your RTC battery is dead.

Something very weird has happened ! The non working 30004R disc drive is now working on the 30003R. Even weirder is that the 30004R in the options menu, says it's a 30003R, but the 30003R says that it still is a 30003R. What kind of sorcery is this ?

    I've had that happen with 2 v9 and v10 systems.One was a 50004 v10 and the other a 50003 silver v9.

I installed the v9 DVD drive and on the FMCB menu I pressed triangle, and it said it's a 50003,even though the board came from a 50004 v10.

Weirdly this didn't happen when I swapped my v7's DVD drive with a v10 drive.

Now I have 3 working PS2's. It's so hard to sell these locally and the shipping is so expensive to other countries. I just wish I could live in the UK or the USA for a few months, I wouldn't have a problem like that over there.

So what exactly did you swap? The model name is stored within the MECHACON EEPROM, on the mainboard.

I changed only the whole disc drive, nothing else.

Yes ! I'm very lucky today. Just sold the modded PS2 with all the cables, but without the controller for 35 EUR. That's about $49. Didn't expect to get that much, but not bad.
