hey thanks for the pics another Super nes playstation it's more look like a SOny hardware but never seen before :
Sorry another post the patent of the super CD from Sony : It's all for today i will add some other pics later cya guyz ;-)
The patent images look almost exactly like the Play Station in the scan, so it seems to be pretty legit. Here's a scan of the Power and Virtual Station concept arts, which also shows another PS logo that's not on the earlier pages:
It's funny that out of all the designs for the original PlayStation they go and pick the most boring one of the lot  At least the PS1 looks nicer. Yakumo
Agreed I still like the final design of the PSX, but the other ones were more interesting, at least it didn't look like a brick like the PS2 or 1990's VCR like the PS3. (I love my PS3 BTW) Thanks for the pics yoshihiro, sure would like one of theses puppies in my collection...
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4828/psxomg.png I cleaned up the watermarks on this image so you can see it better. Sorry there's still a bit of artifacting on it.
If you look at the picture, it is not that different from the basic design of the patent. It looks inspired by it, anyway.
Was an addon designed, just like the original Mega/Sega-CD? Or was it always a combined cart/CD station?
I believe that the model from the patent is the second SNES Playstation model that was made after the famous CES affair, in total 5 different hardwares where developed around the idea of CD-Drive for SNES. Sony SNES Add-on It was a simply CD Drive from Sony, perhaps it was going to be like the MegaCD that added a more faster processor and some custom chips to the system. Sony SNES Playstation Something like the Multimega, it combines SNES+CD-ROM drive in one device. Its concept was shown back in CES 1992 but it doesn´t exist a prototype outside 200 SDK that were never aired after Nintendo announcement with Philipps. Philipps SNES CD-ROM It never existed, it was a vapor/fake annoucement made by Nintendo because they wanted to renegotiate the deal with Sony. Sony SNES CD-ROM Drive, second version The upgraded version included a cartridge with a faster CPU (RISC 21Mhz) and 1MB of RAM inside the entire package, it was compatible with CD-i thanks to a license with Philipps. Sony SNES Playstation, second version It was the SNES+CD-ROM Drive+Cartridge with new hardware. Sony wanted to release it at the beginning of 1993 but Nintendo wanted custom disks instead of CD-ROMS, this forced Sony to move to their own project since thanks to Nintendo the project was delayed to the point that it became outdated.
I found this on my pc: But i remember seeing lots of pics of concept controllers, logos and console design of the PlayStation some years ago. And i think these were showed at an older Edge magazine. (Or was it on NextGen?) If someone has old Edge magazines, could look up for it? EDITED: Found some of the pics i was talking about here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=345469 Unfortunately the one with more logo designs, i wasn't able to find. :-( Here are more recent pics of other controllers designs:
It included those you posted and many others. Two of those different ones are on those controllers i posted.
This reminded me to scan the rest of the PS logos, which unfortunately don't show the triangle or cube logo (the cube one can be seen in the Power/Virtual Station concepts too) seen in the pictures Johnny posted:
