Hi all. Registered a couple days ago and just getting around to the self introduction. I'm a team member for PCSX2 (a Playstation 2 emulator for PC). My brother in law is Refraction (lead developer for the project). I'm also very active in the PS3 scene as well, and am a downgrader. Recently acquired a DECR PS3 Reference tool, which needs some work done.
Thanks. For me, the project has been a long time coming. I got involved back in 2004, around the time of version 0.6. This was when the BIOS ran at a top speed of 3FPS, and almost no commercial game booted yet. To see where it's gotten today is pretty amazing. We're not done, but it's much closer now than some people ever thought it would be. On a side note, I started a thread a few days ago and posted a reply to it with some photos and it got auto moderated. I asked one of your other staff if they could approve it, but never heard back and still waiting on it. Any chance you could do this? Thanks. It's this thread: https://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?55653-Sony-PS3-Reference-Tool-DECR-1000A-issues
It looks already approved to me. I'll bump the topic just in case. Anyway, we limit the initial posts of new members to avoid spam. When we come across moderated topics, we check them and if it's ok, we approve it. Sometimes it might take just minutes and in other cases one day, as it depends on moderators being online.
Yeah, I figured it was a spam prevention technique. After being in so many forums for so many years (and as a mod and admin on many of them), I've learned to recognize these systems. Thanks. Edit: Actually, my first post has always been there, but I made a second reply to it with photos showing the inside of the system. This is the post that still isn't showing.
