Can I use it to play the Wii U and use the Wii U controller as just the controller screen?

You get like this a lot it seems =/

Anyways, I kinda like the idea (anyone with missus and kids would probably love it). But way too expensive for what it is.

so basically it's a wii u controller - most of the features?

a handheld monitor then with some controls suck on it.

I do seem to get stern lotsa times or even pissed off. I blame my autism...
Even I think it is a bit on the expensive side. If the bottom price were $250 or lower I would be more open to it. They said if the goal is met for production then the cost should come down. Didn't say how much. Hopefully they can get it to around the $200 mark then it might be useful for those who have others using the TV during game time. Or possibly using for those who sit on the toilet too much as ASSEMbler said...

Not going to support this with my monies.

From what I've understood it is a bit like the Wii U Game Pad controller in the screen and controller department. I guess me saying it's nothing like the Game Pad is wrong then but calling it "a Wii U Game Pad clone" is still inaccurate.

They also said no Wii U support because of said Game Pad for the system. You COULD use it but only the screen would work. (HDMI out from Wii U.) No controller support thus defeating the purpose of even using it at all. Pathetic...

Yeah at first I thought...wow this is really cool, but no...no it's not.

The only use I can see for it is for people who keep their main console in the living room and their partners/kids or whatever want to watch TV while they want to play.

This is the main reason I like the idea..having 4 kids and a wife that likes to watch soaps does limit my play time sometimes, but the price is ridiculous.

Sorry sonicdude, but I really have to laugh at your butchered/edited opening post. You are seriously all over the place! At first you seemed really interested in this product, then after some posts came through you seem offended that people are bashing this as pretty much useless yet you also edited to state that you find it useless as well and won't be supporting them, yet your very first sentence tells us to support them. If you like it & find it useful, then support it. Don't just go with the general consensus on these forums that it is useless if you would actually find use in it.
& why is it a problem if someone related it to the Wii U controller? Any average gamer could spot the similarities instantly. I wouldn't be surprised if the idea came from just that.

Just buy another TV. I have a wife and kid so I keep all my game systems on one TV and the boys Wii of the TV downstairs.

Honestly it probably would have been better for everyone if they'd just shopped the idea to Sony and Microsoft for a new peripheral. They'd get a few mill, and either company would be able to make it cheaper (or take a loss) and it'd be $150 max.

As Yakumo said, getting a different TV for the bedroom/den/toilet would be a better option. Bigger screen, and cheaper (a 32 inch one at Best Buy can be yours for $250, and that's not even on sale).

How about those of us who don't have the space for another TV? If it wasn't so much and the fact I don't really have HDMI stuff I'd be all over it.

So the answer to Henners' question is "Almost, invert your statement", since you have to use the Wii U gamepad to play the games and this bizarre contraption as the screen.

Well that certainly solves the issue of having to look at the Wii U gamepad while playing a game off-screen.

There's always the Darkmatter kit for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. the Kickstarter was successful so we should be seeing it soon.
