If by adding stupid and needless characters, using 5th grade bathroom humor, and turning robots into blatant racial stereotypes is your idea of making the franchise better then we must have differing opinions.

You should watch Beast Wars then, because it's still awesome.

I didn't analyze the movies that much. As far as films go I thought they were fine. I'll agree with you that perhaps there were needles characters (I honestly cant remember most of the original characters...wasn't there a pink girl robot transformer from the later show and movie?) and on the toilet humor part but I don't recall anything racist in the films. You wanna see racism watch The Phantom Menace lol. I'll be sure to analyze the movie's when I feel like watching them again.

nails the movies to a t. the twins in the second film were black stereotypes.

Beast Wars still holds up SO well.

I still enjoy a lot of the shows and movies I watched as a kid. Not all of them, but a fair number of them. I still love the original TMNT movie. The second one doesn't hold up quite as well, and I've never seen the 3rd one. But I still think the first one is a great movie, and I enjoy watching it even now. It's pretty cheesy at times, but I really don't care. I love it all the same. This is true of a lot of other things I liked as a kid, like Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern World, the Simpsons, Weird Al, etc. This is not to say that my tastes haven't changed over time. I'm into a ton of stuff now that I was not even aware of before. But some things don't change; and it's not because I'm resistant to change or whatever, it's because they're just fucking good. And I'm not that old anyway, so I'm not afraid to indulge the kid in me every once in a while.

I actually didn't say that. I just said (paraphrasing here) that Michael Bay is a shitty filmmaker. I've never watched the original Transformers series so I wouldn't know how the new movies compare. I've seen both of the new movies, and I thought they were pretty much garbage. They had nice special effects; that's about the only thing good I can say about them.
