Add backlight to wonderswan?

I haven't, but I'd be interested too. Didn't get the GBA Afterburner kit when it was available, so e.g. a good source for backlights and/or a generic guide to installing those would be much appreciated...

 

i'm having a backlight installed in a different non-gameboy '90s handheld as we speak. Commissioned the good folks at nonfinite electronics (.com). They've never done any non-GB mods, but if mine is successful, i'll let everyone know.


You might also try Mashmods. (if they return your email).:shrug:

 

Mashmods were offering Wonderswan and NGPC backlighting (both the service and the kits) but both are sold out now.

 

Mash-Mods. They're front-, not backlit. And, as mentioned, sold out (have been for quite some time).

This reminds me that I have 2 frontlight kits for WSC in a drawer that I have been meaning to install for about 5 years now.. I think they even have a dimmer switch or an on off or something too.

 

In all honesty I don't think there ever were any documents included. Just the lighting panels and wiring. I should probably look for the kits and make sure they're even intact now that I think about it.

 

Um, there's Swan Crystal guide on Mash-Mods site. I have no idea about backlighting but frontlight in AGS-001 style should be easy to do.

good idea, but expensive i'd love to see pictures and see how it works out
