Agree/Disagree? Microsoft has baited 18million people

i cant help but how many times they changed their position on alot of crap, because they want to 'offer the consumer a choice'... total horseshit.

A- their consoles in test prior to launch all had a huge failure rate- they KNEW this, and the early test kits were 2.8 ghz, but they were able to make sure that retail consoles were 3.2 in a short amount of time.

B- All xbox live is 7.99 to pay for instant messages and server connections

C- trixie, aaron greenspan, major nelson.. peter moore was the only cool guy and got the fuck out

D- the internal bluray drive which will be announced is more proof essentially they have trolled a crowd

E- gamerscore is not necessary... i do not need 'gamerscore' to complete a well produced game. again, bait tactics... shitty game? well you can GET GAMERPOINTS for beating it!!!

Im really tired of it all, they all sound like babies, i know for the most part the PR people are all normal folks but have to know the xbox is doomed. I just cant stand reading their blather about NPR numbers and wonder why they cant focus on making gamers satisfied rather than left in the dark.

i just really like the games on the console. it has more of the games I like to play than the other two. that's why i bought it. not because i'm a fan of Microsoft or whatever.

I think MS is the best company ever. Just look at their market share. They are obviously doing something right.

I dont hate MS, they're actually doing a good job overall, even if their hardware is (for the first time ever) highly unreliable.

Just think for a second: no other newcomer would've staid in this market after losing $4billions.

 

the 360 is a good system, yes.. has an arsenal of games and caters to a nice demographic... however. sony falls short of this too but not as bad of the multiple skus. why can't they apply the same logic as nintendo and maintain tradition.

just seeing how the internal blu ray 360 will be announces soon according to kotaku, would it of hurt MS if they had just waited an extra year to adapt bluray and HDMI from the get go?

In my imagination, i will hope the announcement with internal blu ray comes with the new motherboards and chipset, as well built in Wi-Fi, possibly a new case and dubbed 'xbox 360' no core/premium/elite etc... and just have that solidify the systems precense. they still have some heavyhitter titles to be released, we know that gears 3 will for sure wrap up the consoles lifespan. i just think its subconsiously unfair to early adapters of the system not having what should be considered a complete system.

 

I need to get a Toshiba HD-DVD drive for the 360 and then wait for the Bluray 360 if that's the case. A piece of art it will be those two together on a single console system!

 

No, it really is a matter of choice. Aside from RROD issues (arguable that there is any difference between old and new), what are the early adopters really missing out on? HDMI is the only thing that I can think of off the top of my head. So what if they add another SKU with built in Blu-Ray? That just becomes another choice for people who want it. Personally, I have been very happy with the Blu-Ray player in the PS3 and couldn't care less about having one in the X360.

I like my 360 for the games. I agree MS has had problems with the 360 (moreso than the Xbox), but I've never had many of my own.

 

i love how the OP makes the Gamerscore a bad business plan. What? Give consumers a reason to buy a game? THAT'S TERRIBLE!

bluray xbox is just a rumor right now, stop acting like it's true.

as for the games, it has the most well produced games out of the Wii, 360, and Ps3.

And as much as I love my Xbox 360, and I hate all other consoles... I also feel Microsoft is being extremely sloppy in many ways... Though their games are great... And I think gamerscore is cool, but their marketting plans and how much they change so quick is rediculous...

I don't think Microsoft has baited people as much as just made stupid decisions... I mean people make decisions on their own. I was well aware of 360 problems and how much will change for new customers but not for me... and I'm more happy with a 360 than a PS3 or a Wii... But that is personal opinion... Don't make this topic a console war please.

Sure. They stealed the right thing, changed the name and gaved it out as theyrs :lol:

But still I must admit, after 20 years they are still there. There is a point behind them.

 

1. Xbox Live is currently the best online console gaming thingy, so I think that payment does a little more then allow messaging.

2. Gamerpoints aren't neccessary, but why the fuck not have them? Some people have friends who like to brag about shit. Well, they can't make it up anymore with certain achievements/leaderboards. You also have a good reason to play through hard, etc. Sure it's just a number, but the challenge is still there. I think it gets you more out of your game.

Also, yeah, multiple SKU's are kind of stupid, but I'm pretty sure with the PS3 they've had a good number of configs, and so far it's come at the price of good backwards compatibility. Now It's going to suck finding a 20/60GB from launch.

 

Well... honestly, Gamerscore was pretty genius. I mean, it certainly makes me play the games a lot more than I might normally do, and a lot of the time I have a lot of fun trying to get the different achievements.

I know a lot of people don't care about the gamerscore, but to deny that it was a brilliant idea is just goofy. Calling to get rid of that now would be like calling to take out "score" from 2D shooters. In both cases, its merely a number that adds a ton of gameplay to the games.

 

I used to think gamerscore was pointless, but it turns out I want to SHOW THEM ONLINE a lot more then I thought I did.
