Actually the guy is a student at University of Virginia and he got in touch with me after taking down his auctions. He was very nice and assured that he did in fact mail the gamecube. Enough said...you are all mature enough to decide what is a scam and what is not.

I see his auctions are back up... whats going on? Despite the indigo color, I just may have to get a $40 GC.

I'd like an explanation as to why your new friend can sell systems for $40? I mean, shouldn't I at least know what I'm spending my money on?

He mailed the cube around the corner? Why didn't you go pick it up?

Let's see systems are sold at cost, or 10% above cost.

    He's selling below cost.

    Sounds like bullshit to me.

It appears that he is selling for some other guy for commission. As I said the guy is at UVA. This is 5 hours away from my house. His parents house is just around the corner. Jeez. Get off my case and do whatever you want.

I mean, due to the price point, there are only two concievable options here.

    1.) scam

2.) Systems were not paid for, which either means they were stolen or they got given to him for nothing or next to nothing. Who knows, maybe someone owed him tons of cash and gave him all this instead...

    Personally, I'd say that if's it's not a scam, it's likely the contents of a hijacked/stolen truck.

I do not know what to say... he contacted me thorugh email and we sent emails back and forth 3 times. I just called Ebay and they said that he is a fraud but for some strange reason they did not suspend his account which leads me to believe that maybe they made a mistake. Afterall his auctions are up and running again... I do not know the guy and I am in no way affiliated with him. I bid for a gamecube and he said that he mailed it. Other than that I have no clue what is going on. Take it this way. If you have money to burn then maybe you could bid on an item but I would not recommend that you bid on multiple items. I only bid for one gamecube so if I end up loosing 45 dollars....so be it.

Everything about this seems so dodgy. 1-day listings, the fact that the consoles come with the max possible number of controllers for ports (4 for GC and Xbox, 2 for PS2) which is not how they come normally, there's 200 of each available... we're not having a go at you kotsos, it's just that this isn't something that's seen every day.

aggreed so that is what I am saying....bid at your own risk..I know I am taking a risk but if I am to get scammed....oh well...I will live.

    assembler did you use paypal?

paypal will get your money back. As soon as the first complaint hit paypal "and there were alot" paypal puts a freeze on the funds to be transfered to his bank account. I talked with paypal and this is how it is done with any fruad complant filed until it is sorted out. He didn't and will not collect a dime.
