Everything I uploaded is now just dead links. Why? I deleted my Mega account. Very poor security and bandwidth limits plague Mega, and now there really isn't any good file hoster anymore.

I put so much time and effort into maintaining my Mega account with uploads, that I won't be doing it again. Don't ask for reuplods of anything from me, ask other members. If you REALLY need something, and I know you well, or I owe you something, then we'll talk. Otherwise, I've taken everything down. I really don't want to deal with the hassle and work of uploading anything anymore. No more freebies.

If this needs to be moved I understand, but I feel it goes well in this section. Thanks.

    Bandwidth isnt free

When Vita piracy began it all went to Mega to host the games. Many people then turned to a specific downloader since it bypassed the bandwidth limit (and still does).

I understand, but I don't like the idea of files getting lost due to this kind of situations...
Hope you'll reconsider in the future; or better, hope we can get a private ASSEMblergames FTP or similar.

Question, Why delete it? just change the pass on the account to something random and let the links live their little link lives.

ASSEMbler will never have its own FTP or file sharing. Too many legal risks for Kev to take on and some of the things we upload on here is in the grey area pretty hard. There is no other good, secure file sharing anywhere. I'm willing to pay up a bit, but most have serious limitations for people downloading with free access. 50-100kbps downloads for AG members? No way.

Yeah, lemme just continue to use a fully compromised site to upload some sensitive files. Some files I had on there wasn't public, and some stuff I had I never want to get public (builds). Also read some above reasons. If Mega wasn't a mess my links would still be up 100%.

I wholeheartedly apologize to the AG community for any hardship this causes. I will consider finding another service in the future.

Then remove anything private and abandon the account, you free yourself from a bad host and links get to not only live a while longer but gives time for people to mirror them.
Meh in the end its up to you so doesn't really matter but still just confused at the logic of it in regards to the public stuff.

Now go to bed diggdugg, you're drunk!

Don't upload private things to the Internet.

Anything you upload, assume is public. This is rule number 1 of the Internet and always has been.

I disagree; BetaArchive has its own FTP and so far they had no legal trouble. It's mostly a matter of keeping some rules (ie. no current/next gen stuff) and we should be good. Of course you have to set up and maintaining an FTP, a dedicated internet connection, HDDs/storage, etc.
So, no easy task, but it can definitely be done.

PS: I know the idea of an AG FTP was discussed already several times, and IIRC there was an attempt at it, but was later scrapped. I just like to keep dreaming.

There was one years ago. But Betaarchive surviving doesnt have anything to do with AG surviving either. This thread seems to have outlived its purpose.
