I have had this unit sitting for almost a decade. Still works, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK4Bi2ExWCs
always when I see the Crystal (I got early press discs where they have pics of retail Units with this crystal) I am kinda sad that these weren't used later..... Nice Kit though, wishI had some money left, just got a lot of other stuff though -.-
yea i have been doing a little research on it and made my way to this site, its pretty cool. glad that i got to own it, but have moved in the way of repairs now. i came across that link for the unit that sold on ebay for about 700usd. but i assume the ebay unit had the hard drive which i do not. i have had it sitting in my basement for almost a decade. its pretty to look at and a cool factor for owning it, but i figure a developer or collector will appreciate it more than i do. the case is magnificent though
Like I said on X-S, just let me know what you are looking to get for it. Not having the harddrive (and knowing if it can be restored easily) makes it a bit tougher heh.

Today my new hdd for the alpha1 arrived. But i have the same problems like before. On recovery screen it stops when the file-transfer starts: I test it with different memorys (2x64MB) and other HDD... Anyone idea whats wrong? Board faulty :banghead:? Or is it the recovery? AlphaII recovery cant be used for the AlphaI? edit: after 20 reboots the recovery finished, but it looks like something is wrong with the ide bus. I changed the ide cable but... creazy
And I know Ive asked before, but youve tried Svideo, correct? I know my system defaulted to Svideo NTSC after a recovery, regardless of the fact that I used VGA for the recovery process.
Would like to have 1 soon or later but scary me to pick up a faulty or non complete machine tho.. Mak
