have you seen traces of a past mod or any damage too the traces ? look around the clock caps for damage and if your cap isnt leaking it soon will i suggest removal or replacement. have you tryed unhooking drive and see if it throws a code..?
I know this thread is old as hell but in-case anyone else runs into this issue and sees this thread: This is actually a legitimate stock error that indicates your DVD drives is failing. Somewhat common these days with the Thompson drives from the 1.0.
It is a legit message that appears when the console can't use the dvd drive, but I wonder if what was causing OP's problems earlier in this thread was just a case of a faulty drive. They said they tried 3 drives. All 3 were failing in the same way? It's possible but seems unlikely imho. I've never encountered this problem on a drive, let alone 3 in a row.
I broke a pin on my IDE connector, motherboard side - did not notice it. I got the same error. Check the board itself for broken pins or traces. I swapped multiple drives and cables as well, no help until I noticed a missing pin. One day I'll be able to repair it, but not now. It still plays what I've already installed fine though.
