I have played Angry birds and I can see that it has a difficulty level that is set to be hard enough for the casual game user, but it's no Sokoban when it comes to difficulty. It's only really original because of the physics engine, anyone that has played Worms multiplayer will probably know that the gameplay is similar without the stupid touch screen and is a lot more fun. If this is the future of gaming (along with 500 similar looking FPS games) then I am glad I have older games to play.
Angry birds is what idiots who never picked up a controller before will play. Us Real gamers will be playing real shit for decades to come.
Lame Ballerburg clone... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V5p25F4rLw It came at the right time though. And Worms is amazing.
Angry Birds is AWESOME for waiting in lines with. Beyond that the game is trash when you can sit down and play something "real". Did see a 15/16 year old with an Angry Birds shirt on. I just can't fathom why anyone would idolize such a shallow, limited game. Then again people went nuts for Sarah Palin. </rimshot>
I'll never understand why this game is so popular, it's just stupid. You don't really have that much control over where your birds fly anyway.
Put me in the camp of those who like Angry Birds. I have all 3 of them: original, seasons, and rio. Can't beat the price of $.99 each. It's fun to play for 10 minutes at a time. My kids also enjoy it.
I don't get it either. But it's annoying that it's EVERYWHERE. T-shirts, plushies, blankets, pillows, etc. I do give the developers credit, I guess. They made a game that is massively popular and I'm sure has made them a lot of money.
I don't hate it, it's a passable mobile game but I wouldn't pay money for it, it was free on android marketplace when I got it. It's just a flash game really, ok when you're bored out of your mind with nothing else to do but otherwise it's a bit meh
It's really simple why angry birds is so hot, and why I like it for one. On my android phone (htc desire) or whatever smartphone you use, it's a pain to play real games on touch screen.. I REALLY hate directional buttons on screen... I find it hardly playable. So that is where angry birds comes in, it's easy to play without physical buttons, and it's brainless fun.. which is nice while you are waiting for something. Don't really understand the hate in this thread towards AB.
Mobile phone gaming is for casuals full stop, it's what people play that know no better because they are not gamers or can't afford a real gaming system. Cheap disposable crap for a quid that they will download & play a few times before moving on to the next flashy thing they see. I'd rather play a real game than some flash experiment or some watered down port of a console game. Maybe im a minority but i got my phone to make phone calls & text people (gasp)
angry birds is just like any other casual game to me, nothing special. The reason why it is big though is , I think, the fact that it can be found pre-installed in some form on any modern mobile device for fuck's sake.
Correct Sir. I've had many arguments with the casual gamers within my study group that Angry Birds is just a rip off.
Angry Birds is my grandmother's favorite game. She had an NES and Atari 2600, but they were in her garage, and collecting dust, so I had to rescue them.
