The problem with Pat was he isn't that good at acting. I don't think he acts in his videos.

 

I used to watch AVGN for a while, but the cursing became repetitive and his insults boring.

I can't imagine wanting to pay $13k for that game. I'd sooner drop $500 on a (100% hypothetical here) gold Donkey Kong Country cart signed by the dev team. Collecting to hoard is IMO moronic. Collecting the top notch titles you enjoy is never a bad thing.

 

I could fall a sleep listening to avgn. I probably have seen every eps.

 

he was ok at first but it seems his mother never washed his mouth out with soap or his father just never beat his ass.

 

If you watch his other videos you might have a little more respect for him. The AVGN videos are a Character, not who he actually is.

 

His board james stuff is actually really good. A total nostalgia trip without the cursing.

I'd love for him to do something like AVGN or board james on old tv.

Really, though, I'd love for someone like the AVGN to step up and do some REAL obscure stuff. The NES is played out, I feel like. Give me an episode on the underrated games on the GP32 like Tomak! Save the earth again, or an episode dedicated to arcade bootlegs like Street Fighter Rainbow Edition.

 

I enjoy everything else Cinemassacre makes more than his AVGN now, Swordquest review was amazing. Informative but hilarious, the swearing was there but it wasn't overblown but with shit games the swearing is kind of fitting. Board James is some of his best stuff in my opinion next to his actual movies (The Deader The Better is one of my favourite indie films)

 

Saw this the other day, I dont see the acting to be necessary, I would just like it to go back to when he sat there and properly reviewed the game in the AVGN style. Pretty damn sweet if they are real carts.

The carts are Pat's. After the credits he shows the smashed ones and the real ones.

 

I agree about the board james videos. I really enjoy those. I actually am on the hunt of dragon strike because of him.
His movie reviews are also not AVGN like at all.

 

No, you should send it to a professional (that would be me) for a proper smashing. Don't worry, it'll be in good hands.

 

A good episode but really nothing that great. He's not that funny anymore because the novelty wore off, everybody tried to copy him a few years ago. And also, I'm not 14 anymore so it's not that funny .
But yeah, some of the episodes are incredibly funny like the Atari 5200, Pong, Castlevania mashup, Silver Surfer, Oddysee...

 

I somehow imagined he would be a fitting member of this forum.

I am really looking forward to his film also. I'm a fan, certainly.

I can see the point of having both games but I would never pay the money needed.

ps: I like this episode because of having this "indiana jones moment" :thumbsup:

 

Most of James's videos are great. AVGN is a really good internet show. His R.O.B Episode was really good as well.

In my opinion AVGN had started to get boring but this was a funny episode.
