Vampire Hunter D It's been years since I watched the movie, but I remember really liking it and wishing it had an anime series to go along with it. I guess my wish has been granted since the the author confirmed a series is in the works back in 2010. Hopefully they don't screw it up.
Just got back from an anime festival (pretty small) and had a good time. Two new anime's to watch- -Accel world -Sword Art Online Sword Art Online is really new with just one episode, but Accel World has a bunch out and it's 1st two episodes are really good! I also won a contest on Ghibli movies and won a bunch of FMA gear- I've decorated my computer area with a new mousepad, and a shit ton of figurines.
Paranoia Agent is a great show. It's one of the few anime that really make you think. Created by Satoshi Kon, director of Paprika, Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, etc. Neo Tokyo aka Meikyu Monogatari is a classic. Memories is also a great one. Nausicaa is probably my favorite Ghibli film. Akira goes without saying. Oh, and Tekkon Kinkreet; such an emotionally resonant film. I could go on, but I'll end with that for the moment.
While the video was not available in my region, just looking at Excel Saga and the image of it brought back a deluge of memories of being a younger, more impressionable fellow. I had so much fun with that anime.
