Besides Chicken Run I've never seen that others titles source code. Shinobi? Did anyone ever hear anything about it? Please share if you can.

I guess you should disable link sharing for all files in the folder, cause shared files won't last long.

An Assembler games torrent tracker would be perfect for this. That way if the media fire links go down it will be up on here and someone can request a reseed if needed.

 

That's true, but we can make a torrent and upload it to the pirate bay.
BTW it would be nice to have a complete list of files with checksums that Prototopia project covers.

Torrents are useless, since this collection will presumably keep changing.

 

I would think the torrent idea would be to have it as a private torrent site with each release as it's own torrent, as opposed to one giant mega torrent. Could be wrong. I'd be interested in supporting some kind of fundraiser to launch a private torrent site for this kind of stuff. No idea how much money that would all cost though and my guess would be quite a bit

 

Hosting torrents isn't particularly expensive, and with ocelot a tracker shouldn't be too resource-intensive either, considering the relatively small community here.

 

With a torrent this size, you would host a base collection, then monthly or whatever update packs. Easy way to keep track.

Almost all of them. I'm missing the contents of "Silent Hill.torrent", as well as 4 of the 11 files in "Saturn Prototypes.torrent", but everything else is complete, including files that were references to external sites where the actual links were provided. All up it's a little under 20GB. That's barely scratching the surface of what I have archived though. I've got somewhere in the order of 2TB worth, and most of that is prototypes, SDK's, documentation, technical site mirrors and the like.

Torrents are pointless nowadays - especially here in the UK. Most ISPs block a lot of trackers. You need people to seed.

A better idea would be to upload them to a newsgroup. Then you just need the NZBs and they should last a fair while - longer than a torrent, anyway.

 

Really? I thought they just blocked the websites that host the torrents. I haven't noticed any problems with torrents I use except for acquiring them to begin with (Google Cache + magnet link *rolls eyes*)
