Am I the only one who gets annoyed by (even minor) scratches on discs? Or are there other people around who believe that discs should be treated with absolute care and respect? Lots of people might say "As long as it's working it's O.K.", but I'm totally not O.K. with such statements. To me a disc has to be mint, perfect, containing no marks of usage/handling. What's your opinion on this matter?
Disks get scratched all the time, sometimes you can't help it. People have said that the PS1 system itself can cause minor scratches. So Im in the "So long as its not mangled and so long as it still plays, it's okay" camp.
It annoys me when my discs are really scratched even if they play, especially if the saller has said that they're "working perfectly" then discs which look like someone has taken a power sander to them arrive. Even if they work, would have been nice if they'd mentioned horrific abuse at some point.
With Saturn cases its not always the sellers fault. I've had sealed NOS turn up with the game rattling around in the case.
That is true indeed, but often it's dreamcast games I have that trouble with, probably because of the amount I buy. The saturn cases are abysmal though aren't they, they seem to fall out of their own free will while stored horizontally on my shelf
I don't even like fingerprints on the labels of my (new) discs. I insert them with my fingernails down on old consoles like PS1 and DC so I don't get prints on the center ring. /ocd
