i know the D-pad is still a patent that has not expired heh . Nintendo just won't quit that cross design it seems. I have to admit that the 8-way D-pad of the Saturn and followed by the 360's D-pad are much more comfortable than even the N64's awesome d-pad.
Yeah, the only reason to have one is if it does something interesting, like light up or something. Else they're just curiosites. Err... yeah Yakumo, sorry about that. Thing was when I was building the site I just stole pics from any source without thinking about how rude (and possibly illegal) that was. now I'm redoing the whole thing and in the process of getting permission for all the images. So, ummm, may I have your permission? If not, no problem, I'll take down any that belong to you. That goes for eveyone else too, if I have an image that belongs to somebody then please tell me, becasue I want the site to be legit.
I'd just like a clone that will actually run any of the games that I happen to slap in it. Is that too much to ask?
A day late, but I took a bunch of pics of NES and Famiclones today, there are at least several in there that are not listed on your site, Hawanja (feel free to use the pics, you can credit Speedy_NES if you want): http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y203/Speedy_NES/My%20NES%20and%20Famiclones/ Enjoy PS I put the dogbone controller next to the clone boxes to give an idea of the size of the box
Speedy_NES: That Crazy Boy clone looks pretty awesome... I wonder if the right side of the unit contains some extra circuitry, like a VGA encoder or something?
Hmmm. Im sure that many of these famiclones can be sold by the thousands in thirdworld countries if sold cheaply. Countries like Pakistan, India, Saudi, Yemen, etc.
That could be, I don't know too much as far as the technical stuff is concerned. I think the box is used for different models as listed on one of its sides, and the model that I have is meant for TVs only and lacks the VGA output, as the 'openings' for VGA output are closed on my model. I especially like the controller, though, and they even gave it a name in the manual, ET! ;-)
Thanks, feel free to use them on your site! Yeah. From what I've heard, the Pegasus line of NES/Famiclones actually replaced the NES in Poland, and when referring to NES games, people would speak of Pegasus games! The two Pegasus clones that I have are also the best quality clones in my collection. One thing that I found funny, is that the Pegasus IQ-502 model has Codemasters/Camerica games advertised on the box!! Maybe there's a hidden connection between the two
I can tell you there were insane amounts of famiclones in Mexico back in the day. Nowadays, you still find lots of them, but only the "gamestation" variety that look like PSOnes and PSTwo. Back then, everyone had a different model, and few of us actually had NES systems. We all had those adapters to play our friends' famiclone games. The more common clones were "NASA" (shaped like NES but with an eject button!), NTDEC cartridges, and lots of Famicom-similar systems.
Famicom NTDEC cartridges or the NES ones? I'm asking because when I showed pics of the unlicensed Spanish (European) NTDEC NES games, somebody mentioned that a Mexican seller once had a couple of them (which is actually a bit odd since Spain had the PAL-B NES, and the NES NTDEC games only work on PAL-B machines and not NTSC ones as far as I've tested, except when using a converter, of course).
