i heard that the web browser would come with a memory expension that uses the gba slot, think about the n64 expension pack, to make surfing smoother and better. No word if this expension would be used for other tittles. Take this with a grain of salt though, 'cause it seems to come from sp0ng.

  3. I'm possibly in the minority, but I'm not really feeling the need for the DS Lite. My first thought was that it looks really, really flimsy. I like the feel of the DS - it feels solid and well-built, like a tiny tank you can cuddle in your hands. The new one doesn't quite look as hefty. Plus, I guess I'm not seeing what the hubbub about the bigger screen is. I mean, whoop-de-doo: everyone raved about the GBA SP's screen, but when the DS came out, it was 'too dim' etc. etc. Same with the release of the GBA Micro, and then the new SP with the brighter screen.

Maybe I'll feel differently if I get hands-on time with the Lite, but I doubt it. I've got a fairly fierce love for my DS - I bought it at launch, and comforted myself in the lonely nights with Feel The Magic while the PSP fanboys raved about the all-but-assured superiority of their system. Now that the silver system has rewarded my loyalty with portable games beyond my imagining, I feel compelled to never, never abandon it! Or something.

Yeah, it's funny how before it came out everybody bagged on the DS, making photoshoped pics of it with ten thousand screens and stuff, and then raved about how the psp was gonna outsell it ten to one. Then the exact opposite happened.

The DS vs PSP sales were supposedly reasonably close in 2005 (according to this source the PSP actually outsold the DS in the US in 2005). Nintendo are claiming about 13 million DS's have been sold now, Sony thinks 10 million PSP's.

Not that you should trust any sales statistics.

are those shiped numbers? because we know that sony uses them alot. Ps2 never hited 100 millions systems sold for sure, its the shiped number, and they never talked about the real deal, so we'll never know how many sold ps2s are there. I imagine sony would take the same aproach with the psp as well.
