true... but metal slug IS a 2d game. Plus , Metal slug is very fast , not just fast...faster than pop.
the game will downgrade in speed , that's for sure... as well as is game play..in fact , gameplay and speed are not too close to aech others. more the gameplay is bad , less the game will be played quickly.

 

I'm amazed at how much it looks like an N64 title, it even has big poly's with textures drawn on to make it look as if it has more poly's like the n64 did(that made sense to me.).Absolutely shocking compared to modern 3d games like advance wars and Killzone.

It should always stay a 2d title imo.

 

a psx could handlle all those polygons.

i personally really don't care about graphics.... what im more scared about is the gameplay of metal slug in 3d.... wich could affect the pure fun you had while playing the original 2d serie.

I'm pretty much of the same mindset all around. I don't mind 3d games... if they're done well. If the gameplay ends up looking like that though, I personally would rather they stick with the great 2d MS :smt071

I think it was a joke, no? If not, he might just be pointing out that PS2 games often have low-res textures, thanks to the lack of video memory and texture compression. There's been plenty of ridicule directed at the Gamecube for its lack of online capability, and the Xbox has the piss taken for its size. This isn't necessarily "fanboyism".

It's like you can't even joke about a system without someone pointing the "fanboy" finger at you, which is about as bad as people being fanboys in the first place.

i don't say i don't have fun with my xbox , i've never said that. i have fun like a crazy with ms3 and wait halo 2 , i don't think halo was the best shooter ever though, like some fanboy could do, but its very entertraining and good. they could make a pretty good shooter with the second one, i just hope they changed some of the little black points of the first installement. like i've said , i don't hate the xbox that much , i just hate the compagny behind it and that's the truth,

I agreee, all four this gen consoles are great!!!But they all have theie advantages and disadvantages and this is what appeals to different people.The ps2 has some amazing games but that is because it is the dominant machine in the market, if it wasn't I am sure the developers would have went elsewhere with certain titles to get the most out of them technically.The ps2 has been a joke online, an absolute farce so has the HDD for the ps2.The xbox on the other hand has been amazing online and it's hdd support tremendous, it's also superior in most graphical respects, but not all.The Gamecube has had some unbelievable software exclusively and so has the Dreamcast.There is no denying that if you are a gamer you have to have them all to experience the true classics.

For instance...the Ps2 has had the maximo series and that imo has been truely awe inspiring, it's also the only console you can play Shinobi and Kunoichi on plus Gradius 5.The Xbrick has had stuff like Jet Set Radio Future and Ninja gaiden, two classics right away and the sublime Halo.The Gamecube has had F zero gx,Metroid Prime,Super mario Sunshine, pikmin,Luigi mansion, Super Monkey Ball, Biohazard ) and the remake,Zelda, the upcoming zelda and of course the upcoming Biohazard 4.The Dreamcast had samba, Cannon Spike, Mars matrix, Jet Set, SHENMUE(OH I LOVE YOU), SHENMUE 2(GREATEST GAME EVER!!!edit, best game of this gen, otherwise it would have to be NGHTS into dreams, for Sega Saturn.), Ikaruga, Border Down, and many many more.

If you want to experience all the classics you have to have them all.One thing to note is that Sega has had the greatest output in the last five years imo, and the fans are still moaning.They really have shined with some of the most original and innovative games ever, especially on the DC, but F zero and SMB have been a true testament to the talent of Toshihiro Nagoshi.We all poke fun at the sytem's sometimes but it is not bashing and fanboyism, it is just funning around or taking the piss as we say.God can't we have a laugh without every word being taken so seriously.I come here to have fun and share and gain knowledge at the same time.Not have a totally serious discussion every thread.We do have them but only when it's needed, and it really isn't in this thread.Metal Slug 3d looks shite, SNK playmore can't program for the Ps2 for shit.It would take them another couple of years to master it like it took everyone else, god Sega still haven't and they did not come on that late.It's a pure bitch to program for and that is why their games look absolutely shite, they really should be doing it on something else, but money dictates what they are programmiing for.It's also pretty obvious that the Playmore programmers are not very talented.

 

indeed , you must get all the four consoles to have every classics and greatest tittles. every consoles have incredibles games that you dislike the console and/or the compagny behind it or not.

the only thing i disagree with you is the online on ps2. sure , its not as good as live and not as organised as is ennemy... buts its still totally free and have low lag (for the most of time...and its not as speedy as the xlive.) its still fun... and i still buy online game for the ps2 when i have the choice between the xbox and the ps2, becuase i don't whant to pay for xlive and if i do, i don't know if i could pay for long.
