Metal Slug 3D does look like shit. You said so yourself in one of your PMs. Why the change of heart all of a sudden?

 

Um it does look like crap. It seems to be on par with the PS2 port of Turok visually. The PS2 is capable of much more and its resources are going to waste on this title.

 

Indeed. From the latest still in development, we can mention Killzone, MGS3:Snake Eater, Gran Turismo 4 and Final Fantasy XII.

Gran Turismo 4 is a fantastic example. It looks better than any racing game on the Xbox, including PGR2 and Forza Motorsport.

Even with all PS2 disadvantages.

 

I am not dissing the PS2 here, but have you actually played those games yet, all of them? Including the XBOX ones? You can't make a fair comparison untill you have expierenced each game first hand. I am not saying that GT4 does not have better graphics than PGR2 or Forza Motorsport, but I am not saying that it does either because I have never played GT4 or Forza Motorsport. I have played PGR2, and It is a great looking game, but more importantly it is a great looking and great playing game. Screenshots and movies don't mean anything.

 

well, i have a pretty good idea of what mgs3 will be like. they showed a movie of gameplay, not just assorted fmvs.

as for killzone, it looks good, but some of the scrrenshots were wierd for a first person shooter. looks like some of it was fmv.

 

Killzone has been insanely overhyped, I've seen a few rolling demos and it didn't strike me as a particularly noteworthy game - good looking for PS2, but not comparable graphically to anything that's come out over the last year for PC. I hope the gameplay's better than it looks in the videos.

i want killzone, but i didnt get sucked in by its hype. i saw many articles say its the ps2s "halo" and i thought it might be. i dont know why i did, becuase a lot of shooters look the same. not all, but some.

i dont even know why i want it. you cant even drive vehicles. the developers excuse was "we wanted people to see true guerilla warfare, not driving around in vehicles"

Well, all I know is I saw it several times, and I didn't point you out. Look in my original post. Did I ever meniton your name? Did I mention anyones name? I don't hate the Xbox. I just don't think i need one.

And yes, i played PGR2. It has great graphics, but the playability is too much arcade-ish. Games like Burnout 3, Midnight Club 2 and Ridge Racer are arcade-ish, and fun. I had no fun while playing PGR2. Just my opinion though.

Oh, and Killzone is not the same as Halo (even though they are promoting over Halo). But it looks good, and plays good from what i've read and watched from movies.

 

So you like racing sims better than arcade style racers. That's cool :smt023 Personally, I prefer the arcade style games. I don't want to have to worry about making repairs to the car, and adding parts. I just want to pick a vehicle and go :smt042

Actually i like any type of racing games. I love simulations like Gran Turismo (completed 100&% on GT1 and GT3. Don't have GT2), and i'm addicted to arcade style too like Burnout 3 that i will buy when my credit card is unlocked. These days i''m having tons of fun with Ridge Racer V. Even with aliasing the game is beautiful and plays great.
