I took the wife and her mum to the Onsen today (Hot Spring) in the middle of the country. I didn't want to enter so I went for a drive. On my travels I went to Yamaguchi city which is home to a very famous Temple. Please take a look. You'll be surprised at how beautiful it is.

    This is the main temple

This statue was made to honour a woman that lost her baby.

How would you like to visit here at night?

The only bad thing about visiting temples in the country is that they have 100's of these little bastards !! I hate them.

    Nice pictures :smt023
But why not enter a hot spring with your wife? :smt043
Oh and I took the liberty of correcting one of the IMG tags in your post, I hope you don't mind.

Beautiful pictures Yakumo. You're quite the photographer. Was that place in a scene from the (crappy) movie Pearl Harbor? I rememeber a scene where American bombers flew over a place just like that after they struck Japan.

thanks :) i don't have any super cool camera equipment though. these pictures were taken with my Digital Video camera that I use for making Retro Core. It's video quality is very nice but the photo side isn't that good. If you use another program other than Adobe Photoshop to reduce the image sizes you can see all the sacn lines :smt042 The camera takes photo images at 1280 x 1024 Not too sure what Mega Pixle it is though. Probably around 4 million.

I'm not too sure if this place is in Pear Harbor. I saw it once in Japan and once in the UK. It's funny how the Japanese version is different too. In the British version the japanese are made out to be right bastards (which they propbably were) but in the Japanese version it didn't.

That would make it 1.3 megapixels.

Those are some really beautiful pics. Except the last one.

Just how big was that spider it looks fookin huge in the pic aieeeeeeeeeee :smt067 :smt071 Die spider dieee

  13. Absolutely beautiful! That's not too far from where you live, you say?

By the way Yakumo, have you ever been to Okayama? How is it around there? I might have the opportunity to spend half the school year studying in Japan, and my options are either Mejiro University in Toyko, or Okayama University there in Okayama, and as cool as it would be to go to school in Tokyo, I'd sortof like to see the scenic side of things as well. We have an exchange student here from Okayama, and of course she's telling me Okayama is better, but I'd like to have another perspective.. :smt023

I wish I could help people on the Pearl Harbor thing, but sadly (well, not really) I've absolutely blocked all memory of that movie from my mind.

Hey, that looks like the quality I get from my camera! :smt067

Those spiders aren't poisons but they are big. I hate spiders. last year there was a mutant version of that spider living in the tunnel. It must have been 15cm wide !! I hate spiders. they scare the shit out of me. There are some poisons spiders in Japan though. these are also quite big with fat bodies !! I've only ever seen one once. they live in the forest or hillside mostly. As you can see from the below pictures that I just took there is a hill side behind my home. I believe this is where the spiders live. You can also see that my PC/games room looks out on to a train track and that the weather is quite shitty today :-(
    [IMG]
Yes, that's a cargo train passing. Noisy buggers they are if the window is open.

I've never been to Okayama myself but from what I've heard it's meant to be quite a nice place. I'd choose Tokyo though :smt023

I'd rather see pics of your wife in the spar! :smt023

    Only kidding :smt083

Nice looking temple, on a nice warm day with the sun out I bet it looks amazing. I probably couldn't stand the smell of the flowers and crap though.

The spider is looking pretty evil - had an infestation myself this summer with 10 - 15cm giant house spiders, not the most pleasant experience. Kill them all!

What's so special about seeing Yakumo's wife in a (dilapidated) supermarket? A hot spring would be something else though ;-)

I know how you feel about spiders Yakumo. However, I hate snakes more than spiders. I killed 3 in my life so far, all non-poisonous but they were all in my garage so I had to kill them. I almost killed a Black Racer(deadly), or it could've been an indigo snake(not deadly but also black). Florida as well as the US in general has some scary shit that if you accidentally get bitten by one, you would have to go the hospital. Coral Snake, which is only found in FL and other southern states are the most dangerous in America as far as recovering from their venom bite goes.

However, my home territory of Puerto Rico has no snakes but large non-poisonous spiders (aka not deadly but they can be irritating if touched). Someday, if I have the money, I'll retire out there in a secluded area on the beach. :smt045
