Does anyone have any information about this potential GBC prototype? Has it surfaced before? It's very basic and appears to be little more than concept / tech demo piece. No actual gameplay or visible sprites. It is possible its not working correctly. The credits on it are Climax Entertainment / Virgin Interactive (publisher) but I can't find anything online to indicate Climax had any involvement with Resident Evil but Virgin did publish all the Capcom games in Europe at the time. Its on a legit Nintendo multi checker cartridge and came with large collection of other dev hardware ex-Virgin.
After a bit of searching, I can’t find anything that looks like that besides the video you linked. I found gameplay of a supposed prototype, but it had working sprites. I really don’t know.. but my guess is it’s a very early/ possibly broken build. Maybe climax was supposed to work on it but pulled out early on. Interestingly... Climax has never been known to work on resident evil.. but they have worked on Silent Hill. I don’t know if that means maybe a Silent Hill game somehow got recycled into resident evil...
