Any one going to Uni/College(for are american friends) this September?

Just curious to see if any AG members are just about to start uni.

I was on overclockers.net and there was a thread about will a case fit in uni halls and just happened to find someone starting at the same place as me so i thought id start this thread.

Course: Computer science
Where: Aberystwyth

 

Heading to Drexel University for Computer Science (with a concentration in game development!). I'm gonna come out with a crap load of debt, but I have to have an education...

 

Have a blast!

Spend the first month goofing off, then straighten up your act. The one main thing I wish I could have changed about Uni was taking things more seriously. It was easy to make that first month last a whole year.

 

i did that at college just was like i cant be fucked for the hole first year so i got that out of my system bit more camited nowadays lol

 

Gonna be taking a few classes in the fall. I want to learn Spanish and I'm gonna take a couple film classes.

 

You will love it there. I go to school close to Drexel and visit every once in a while. If at all interested, they have a great greek system with beautiful mansions as fraternity houses. Worthwhile, especially at Drexel. Easily the best decision I made during college.

 

I really don't want to go to school in this city, or even state, anymore - but can't really afford to go anywhere else.

Consider me a drop-out. I'd have my CE degree by now if I had worked my ass to the bone.

The "are" in the title should be "our", although I must admit I did read that a few times before I noticed.

Just curious, are you dyslexic? you appear to randomly mix up / miss words out of sentences, which is a dyslexic trait.

Not having a go or anything, only asking as i am and was allowed to type my exams in Uni, which helped me greatly.

 

I'm going to a University at the end of August. I'm not a Freshman though, I'm a senior. I don't know about UK, but in the US there isn't one standard size for dorms (if that's what you mean by hall).

Anyway, this is (hopefully) my last year in college. I will be glad to be through with it.

 

yes i am i was very servierly up till a few years ago. i tend to get tences mixed up like il say you instead of I and the other way round and stuff that sounds similer like our and are. also miss kinective words out of sentences and read it back my mind fills in the missing words. it plays havoc with any work i ever do lol.

yeah i got tested again before uni, full physiology report and all... they recommended i shouldn't actually do any written work for my self as it would be useless XD (my hand written stuff is illegible)

You sound like a nice guy. However, "I" and "you" are not tenses. "Our" and "are" is a very common mistake though, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. I was under the impression (and other friend with the condition told me) that such confusion is not dyslexia.

You were tested before uni? What do you study at university? It is disgusting to think they would suggest that you do not do written work.

Sounds like school, and probably parents, have let you down.
