About ten years ago, or was it eight, I met through work a guy who told me he programmed Planet of the Apes on DC and still had it somewhere. I'll need to track him down.

I'm also friend with Fred Raynal who probably have builds or demo for Agartha, but last time I mentioned it (maybe 6+ years ago) it seemed still an emotional thing. Next time I meet him I'll try to ask if he has remains of Agartha he is willing to share.

Any truth in the claims the studio attempted to re-work the title for the PS2?

And yes, it's hard to take...seeing all these lost DC games running....ohhh what could of been!.

 

I was under the impression that Red Lemon went under not too long after Take The Bullet was ultimately cancelled around March 2001 (still planned for the Dreamcast, though curiously not in America), being one of Sega's so-called "1.5 party" developers. Unless the rights to the project traded hands, I can't imagine a PlayStation 2 version ever being on the cards... I'd been curious about this game for years, and it's finally great to see that it reached a point where it actually had some substance. Hopefully this playable show build will be shared, or perhaps even completed by a team of dedicated fans, similar to a few other prototypes I could think of. The visuals somehow remind me of GoldenEye 007, with the idea of another possible split-screen FPS title for one of my favourite consoles a great early Christmas present!

 

Yeah it's another 'UK Magazine' claim that game was attempted to be re-worked on PS2 with no details as to just how far it got, so i've always questioned just how valid the claim is....

 

Woah, that is crazy exciting. So much good footage being released recently. You're very lucky to have been able to play TTB. Appreciation goes to that private collector who let you play and capture that footage. I'll be checking it out later. Thanks!

 

Great to see it in motion. I remember the screenshots from DreamcastHistory many years ago - I guess this is the same copy? (you mentioned it was possibly the only known copy in existence) It's a shame you couldn't test it with the lightgun, but 'maybe' that's the reason it got canned? I mean, if you need a lightgun to play the game you're kind of eliminating a big chunk of the market if it doesn't play well on a controlpad - just a thought.

I'm really curious to know what's next!? This guy seems to have a treasure trove of unreleased Dreamcast games - and it's quite something to see them in motion after years of speculation (esp. Colin Macrae Rally)
