Anybody attending tokyo game show this year?

I'm going to japan next friday, will be staying in nagoya for 3 months or so and i hope to be able to visit tgs on saturday. Is anybody else going?
Would be great to meet some of you guys in person!

Probably just the Arcade Show. Cave's new one should be on display there... Nothing consumer has given me wood in a long time.

 

how hard exactly is it to get press accreditation for the tgs?
i've been to trade fairs that required little more than my adress on the impress of a videogame related webpage.
according to the tgs press registration page, they are more strict about that.

 

it is a cakewalk. Just say you work for some site (any site really) and they'll mail you one. Might need to do it early. I might get one for shits & giggles.

 

I normally just get one from er From Software.

 

According to their rules it has to be a commercial site though and you have to give them some proof that you really work there. Or don't they really check?

 

I got one ages ago when gamengai was still Japanese Gaming hosted at Classic Gaming... you couldn't tell that from anything other than the URL though. I don't think they're very strict.

 

Last year they asked for Business cards, one they took the other was used in the pass. I did see two young men (20s in street clothing) being refused a pass as they had no business cards, I watched them as they said "This is bullshit man" before being escorted out. I did chuckle.

 

They must've changed their rules. So, go spend $10 and get some business cards made.

 

just received the official announcement and application form via mail. but still don't know if i will be there during 20/21 or 22/23 or mixed.

I'm just going to stroll up, make a phone call, get ticket off friend of a friend, go in and enjoy.

 

i didn't do much more than that. fill out a pdf with 6 lines and send it back.

I should be going to TGS on the 22nd. Look out for the white guy who loves video games.
