Anybody have Vampire Collection (Darkstalkers collection) on PS2?

I got it today.......it boots up then I select a game...black screen.........

WTF......

My guess is either my PS2 hates the game or the game hates my PS2 and it's defective.

What method are you using to boot the game,and I take it the rest of your imports boot fine.

 

Swap magic 3.3 Yeah all my other imports boot with out any issues at all.

 

I know the problem. Its common dude with games that have more than one game on it. For example I brought Street Fighter anniversary collection the USA version and I got to the select screen went to go on 3rd strike and black screen. The reason for this is because when you select a game it re checks the region of the PS2. There is a site I will look for now that can fix this but it means swaping with another disk on top of the swap magic disk

How come the snk collections don't have this problem?

I assume it's a capcom thing.

So where in that link do I look to see what I need to get the damned game to properly boot? (it's not a big loss since it was $14)

Well you could try the exploit to boot direct backups or try and play the game from hdd if you have that.My PS2 is modded so I have never had this problem,hope you get the problem sorted out.

I don't believe that it works from HDL, either - the game supports official HDD install, so that possibly conflicts with HDL/SM.

Install FreeMCBoot and ESR. Burn patched backup and play. ESR supported Street Fighter Alpha Anthology and is said to support the Vampire Collection too.

The problem you're having is probably region checking or HDD checking.
