Anyone else get fucked by the new 360 update?

RROD............fucking god damn AGAIN.

I used the 360 maybe twice today? I haven't had any problems whatsoever on my Falcon 3 month old Elite. Updated last night, used it a few times, thats it. Went to play Condemned 2, and fuck me. RROD out of NOWHERE.

I have terrible luck....I just got a bunch of old Xbox games, and was ready to mod up an old Xbox. That died too. I'm so pissed I want to stop playing games. Really wish my computer would stop BSODing so I can play Dreamfall.

FUCK THESE FUCKING WORTHLESS ELECTRONICS, AND FUCK THIS FUCKING WORTHLESS SOFTWARE. Sega Genesis time.

 

The Xbox 1 is about bullet proof unless you screw up a mod? Might I ask what happened to it?

As for the PC try reformatting it?

The 360, well those are just shit. I have a close to launch one and have never had the 3 red rings. I think its been because of my intercooler. I took it off last week cause I never had problems after that my games would lock up mid-play. Just dead lock out of nowhere. No red rings no buttons worked nothing not even ejecting the disc? I put the intercooler back on and have played 20+hours since putting it back and no locks or problems at all. I would recommend you get one.

 

The xboxes, I have no clue. One of them is my old Xmas lights one, one someone just gave me. I swapped it's dead DVD drive for the XMas lights one that worked, and bam. No power on. I dunno, what the fuck ever.

The PC, my motherboard is fucked up. It's not my ram, but it's causing my RAM to fuck up. I've had this problem for a long time, I'm just saving up for a new computer. It's on every OS I've tried too. Random crashes, restarts, weird shit.

I'm just tired of having fucking terrible luck. I'm not an idiot with electronics, I know what I'm doing. I'm just sick of bullshit. This was more of a rant then a "help me" thread. It looks like a lot of other 360 owners got fucked by that update, though.

Well, on Major Nelsons blog there's a lot of complaints about RROD after the update. I found a few random ones on the net too. If it really is the problem, it'll probably pop up on Kotaku or something. I just don't understand how it just died out of nowhere. I've never had any freezes or anything.

Your luck does seem to be bad but im having it just as bad man. My grandma is in the hospital and they dont think that she will survive the next 24 hours. She actually died last night and they brought her back but there is really 0% chance of a recovery. Her lungs are failing and cant remove her carbon dioxide from her body.

Normal levels of Carbon are 40 parts per million or something and hers are at over 200, the highest levels ever seen in my local hospital.

I guess what im saying is just to be gratefull its only electronics and not you or a loved ones health. Its been a while since I have had such a signifigant family member about to pass away. If any of you guys or gals happen to be religious I would appricate any prayer support for her.

 

I'm really sorry to hear that. Last year I lost my grandma, she had colon cancer and alzheimer's, it was awful to see her like that so i know how you feel. Your grandma will be in my prayers

 

Ha, yeah. My XB360 finally died a few weeks back. I'm not buying another one.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother Micjohvan. I too get to deal with a grandmother suffering from heart and lung ailments (which can be remedied but she refuses surgery).

 

You think thats bad? a 250GB HDD I was making backups to just died with all my info inside, and I've been all week trying to make it work again.

Now my only hope is getting the files out of there an into a new HDD:-(

See My great grandmother. Which would be my grandmother's mum. Left some money to her great grandkids. I spent some of that money on a Dreamcast. Now Her name Norhimzar is when translated Naomi.

So that dreamcast was of sentimental value. It was also bought a year after the loss of my grandmother who was the biggest supporter of my gaming habits in my early years.

Oh yeah I lost a 360 too...had the manufacture date of a friend and that friend's brother (half brother really) his brithday was the manufacture date on my original XBOX.

Geez. I hope my Elite doesn't get a RROD. It did once during Oblivion but it started working again soon after.

Speaking of broken systems, my PS2 has about had it. I might try to see if I can get a PS3 that plays PS2 games or a PS2 slim. I might need to buy a lot of memory cards soon, as my PS2 HDD is holding many of them.

 

Just don't get an unofficial card. The PS3 can only read 8MB cards using the adaptor.

 

You can copy the saves to the PS3 HDD right? But then you still need to use the card on the game?

 

is there a way to use the adaptor with the PC? (even hacks or unnoficial drivers) because I urgentlyneed to write some code to a PS2 memory card , and it's either an Action Replay or something else.
