I'm a bit confused. I've pretty much played Halo 2 online exclusively since it came out. Over the past few years I've played that game about 80% of the time I fired up my XBOX or 360. But the game has completely fallen off of the interest radar for me. I loaded it up once in the past 4 months and I quit before I even got into a room. I don't even know when Halo 3 is coming out in Japan. I've been playing 3D Mini Golf instead, my new Nintendo DS with Mario World, and I've even thinking about getting Maddon 08 which will be the first time I've ever bought a Madden game. I bought Battlefield 2 and I've played it for maybe 3 hours over the past month. Maybe I've just lost interest in first person shooters? Or maybe the hype with Halo 3 is so big that I don't even want to deal with it? I'm not someone who has been anti-Halo from the start...
It's gone from great story part 1, to blah story in part 2 with a heavily exploited / cheats multiplay. Part three has a worsening storyline, and probably similarly hacked gameplay. However, console fans have never had it so good. PC people like myself will just laugh and turn back to other games, mods, and better gameplay. If I was a console *only* owner, I would probably be wetting my pants. I don't play FPS games much anymore, I prefer Japanese type games. I'd rather have pikmin III than halo 3 any day.
I'm unbelievably excited about Halo 3. But then again I dont have a good pc so i dont really know what else is out there.
I'm not excited. Halo 1 rocked but halo 2 was very meh and a waste of my time for me. I don't play halo online because I can't bear the child rasist hick group found on xbla (that tends to also predominantly play halo). For an fps, I'm far more excited about TF2 then any other fps this year. *drool*
I preordered it then canceled then did it again then canceled and pre ordered Arcana heart for PS2 instead. Besides I'm all about Unreal for my mulitplayer space shooters
Well, I don't even HAVE an Xbox 360 at the moment, so I'll be spending my time and money on Digimon World Dawn (or Dusk) and Soul Nomad for the PS2. I better get those games while they aren't FUCKING RARE AND DAMN IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND OUTSIDE OF EBAY... Rant off. lol
I played Halo1, the story was good, the gameplay was too repetitive, and I played it maybe two times and never again. I do like the story of the series, which is maybe one of the best in history (of games) but looking at the ending of Halo3 all I've to say is that just like Commodore did with the Amiga, Bungie/MS have, somehow, been able to send the hottest franchise of our time directly into the shithole. On the FPS front, I'm looking foward to Flashpoint2 and Crysis on the PC, but I've to build a new rig to play those games...
You know, I thought Halo 3 was going to be the last game in the series. But hell, even Timsplitters 4 is coming out. And its even been confirmed by Free Radical. And that series isn't NEARLY as popular as Halo 3 is. EDIT: Made a new thread instead
Suprisingly yes, and even on PC (3 years later), so expect Halo 3 on PC around 2010, when no one cares anymore...unless they do a Custom Edition (freebie for using custom maps/mods easier instead of having to manage the mods...Blood Gulch Nuked FTW!)
.. I ... see what.. you .. did...? *** Even this guy won't play Halo 3. (skip to 3:45) I was never a Halo guy, but then again, I've never been much for FPS games. This game comes out RIGHT BEFORE university classes begin, so I want to really see if it screws over anyone's studying habits.
There lies the problem with all Halo fan boys. They haven't played any other good FPSs and automatically call Halo the greatest.
I'm sort of excited for it, but I'm not going to rush out and buy a 360 just to play it. I'll wait until the 360's stop dying. I'm much more excited for Mario Galaxy than I am for another Halo game.
Don't know I would say mildly excited, the Beta was fun, not really excited by the 2 previous outings, I still need to finsih them... I guess I would be more excited by Tecnosoft coming back than Halo 3 but I'll still buy it, but probably not on day 1. I still need to pop the Bioshock disc into my console so...
I never really enjoyed Halo 1, so I'm not excited at all. I don't feel FPS work well with a pad after being so used to the superior mouse/keyboard combo and I can't adjust to the slow awkward controls. Microsoft should allow players to use a mouse and keyboard but have them only able to compete with other players using a mouse and keyboard (for balance purposes).
