i have a x360, but i'm more excited about sensible world of soccer and even more by FFT:LW for psp! mmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhh
I don't give a shit about Halo 3. If I want to play a shooter I'll play Gears of War or the new Unreal Tournament when it comes out. I think Halo has been on a hype train since people first heard about it. I never found Halo to be special. It looked better than alot of previous console FPS games being on Xbox ofcourse. And I imagine the vehicles excited people. But honestly, UT1999 was a better game. UT2004 is better than Halo 3. UT2007 will surely blow Halo 3 away. Bungie is overrated, people just have a big boner for Master Chief/Space Marines. I'm waiting for UT2k7/UT3 and Assassin's Creed.
I`m not excited nor interested at the prospect of Halo 3 in the slightest. In my opinion it just isn`t special in anyway. The dialogue like most games was awful, the story was pants and killing cutesy aliens is plain dull. I was quite impressed by the swarming aliens in one level of the original. I think hearing about a game being "amazing" or "sick" constantly from people who know nothing about games leaves me disinterested.
Welcome to the club, altought I'm more exited to play GoW and UT2007 (among others) without having to upgrade my PC... Indeed, since they were always working in enviroments were they didnt had any real rivals: first in macs and later on Xbox...
At the Penny Arcade Expo they were showing off Shadowrun. They had 4 PCs and 4 360s. It was consoles vs PCs. When I played the PC guys got OWNED every time. But that's just one game... that few people have even played... As far as being excited for Halo3 goes... I'm all about the multiplayer. The first thing I'm going to do is hop on LIVE complete all the achievements and start recording the OWNAGE and spamming my friends list. :icon_bigg
heh yeah, same with me. I can't even really tell you what the story is behind the game. I know it has something to do with man vs. alien. I think I played single player for a few hours in the beginning just to get a feel for the game, then went online and never went back.
I just rented it the other day (I was surprised that the rental place actually had copies) and I haven't played it much yet, but here are a couple observations: the graphics aren't at all impressive in single player, but for some reason they seem somewhat better in multiplayer. Also, the single player mode is bland and boring, but playing on Live is pretty fun. Not a terrible game, but I'm glad I didn't spring the $60 to buy it.
I'm saying those games suck But Halo 3 isn't.....I'm playing that shit till 360 #2 red rings I also think save for the Human Models that the Graphics are the best on the 360.
There's nothing wrong with Oni or Marathon both were decent games when released. Oni was also a more experimental title then Halo ever will be.
does anyone else suffer from a 360 locking up whenever you scroll the dashboard? I can't look at my messages, friends list, or compare games without the piece of shit locking up. Even pressing the guide button cause it to lock up, as I can't back out of the side menu. I've seen other people on other boards have this problem and it's because of halo 3 traffic. nice to know I pay money to have my 360 lockup.
I've never seen the appeal with Halo. The storyline was a novelty for a while (world on a ring...cool concept). However I found the gameplay uninspiring, linear and defined by checkpoints: shooting>checkpoint>Driving>checkpoint>Sniping>checkpoint. It looked far more promising in its Mac incarnation. I won't deny that the multiplayer in Halo 2 is fun but then I bought Call of Duty 3 for my 360 and enjoyed that so much more and even then I fire up counterstrike on the PC and realise that FPSs should stay where they were born.
I'm not going after you, but the statement in general: I might be totally wrong, but I have played a ton of FPS and never played any that pulled off the driving/melee attack/grenade combo that Halo has done, but I have played plenty of FPS with the same style of gameplay AFTER Halo came out. Just gotta say that.
That's a fair point, my choice of words was perhaps a bit misleading. In a global sense Halo was inspiring because it opened up new doors and ideas for other games. However, as a single experience from a personal perspective it did not do it for me. I have no issues with crediting Bungie for being the innovators of said gameplay but what I do argue is that their creation was not used as effectively as it could have been. Without falling into a PC versus console argument here, Half-Life 2 is an example of innovation used to good effect. With the odd exception the physics implementation was smooth, useful and a great compliment to the overall experience. Long story short, I'm a big fan of FPS but when I picked up that Xbox controller and dived head-first into Halo I was deeply unmoved.
