I don't really care about KOF but just because multi is the main point doesn't mean the single player should be missing or anything. I can't find a single person around me that will play basically any fighting game with me around here so I'm fucked for that. Now we have internet play, but i'm usually still fucked because I'll just get fucked, lol. Still though. I like beating fighting games sometimes because of the cool cinematics or unlockables. Well, the older ones anyway.
you LIKE unlockables? thats my biggest gripe with street fighter 4. I shouldn't have to unlock mutiplayer aspects that matter. Like characters or maps.
Well, now that you have online play and all that shit unlockables can be a pain but, for instance, Tekken 3 was fun to play through to unlock all the characters and CG movies and stuff, but I'm at a different viewpoint from you and in this present day I'd have to agree since I don't have the time I did when I was a kid. I do hate it when I beat a fighting game or something and get nothing though.
the compilations they are releasing are not even half bad, and so are most ps2 ports.... right now i'm looking forward to the marvelous KOF2002UM.... concerning KOFXII it was already disappointing to hear that it'll have only 20 chars.... 2002UM is going to have 60+ and 3 final bosses! it should be out in japan BTW.... anyone tried it?
I like samurai showdown 4, that's about it for my enjoyment of snk fighting games. Although kof 11 is sort of fun. I got the ps2 version for 10$ and my friend has an atomiswave with kof 11. Besides the horrible loading time the atomiswave version is good times. And these days the gimmick with most video games is "unlockables"
Japanese KOF Orochi- Includes KOF 95, 96 and 97 Color edits English, Spanish and Japanese (and I think Portuguese and Italian too) Arranged soundtracks in game Perfect Emulations right down to the how to play screens US KOF Orochi Includes KOF 94-98 No how to play screens Unnecessary load times Challenges for 98 (which are plagued with audio problems) No Ingame arrange no language options No Color edit. SO yeah........the US gets assfucked. Even though 2 extra games make you THINK it's the superior collection.
By this point, if they don't have it code complete (as in, they don't add any more to it) then any additional content is not going to make it. Unless they got guys working 24 hour shifts to get the work done, which very well may be happening. Lack of a final boss, characters, and ending sounds like they just ran out of time.
I won't be surprised at all if an updated version of XII with a boss and endings, plus new characters, gets released. Maybe they'll pull an SFIV and put more characters in the console versions, but it's unlikely.
Yeah, but XI was out in arcades for like a year before the home port - XII will be ported only months after the arcade release. Also, for XI they didn't have to make new HD sprites.
