I was just wondering is anyone here drove a sports or supercar. Or had high end driving skills. Gumball 3000 is coming up soon.
Hi, My father in law had a Ferrari 348 ts 2 years ago, but he crashed it on a telecom post. This car was amazing as you can imagine I never got to drive it because of insurance, we were meant to go on a track for me to try it but he accidently slipped on some leaves while accelerating like a maniac and crashed into a post. So I got to be in it many times but never drove it :no The best car I drove was again my father in law Mercedes SL600 V12 this car is great as well but not as fun as a Ferrari, I also got to drive his S600 V12 very confortable and powerful but you have to be careful while driving fast this baby his heavy and hard to stop if you don't plan your breaking. Next on my agenda of car trial Nissan 350 Z I finally convinced my colleague to let me try it Sabre
i drive a BMW M3 (343 HP) and do some internal tests for the M GmbH's "Prototypen & Vorserienfahrzeuge". 4 friends of mine attended this years european Gumball. Check out the Porsche GT3 with the Gulf design.
I'm very glad on how the Spain / Catalonia police behaved with the idiots of the Gumball 3000 and Cannonball. Hope they never return here with his "rally", running to 250 km/h or more in opposite direction putting the life of the normal drivers in danger, its pathetic attempts of bribe to the police etc.
Aye. Only had it for a weekend. Needless to say I pulled friday, Saturday and Sunday! I only had the bog standard one and it was scarely quick. ALways said when I get the chance I will get one but a house comes first.... Also you cant fit a rollorcab in it
hehe.. German police did not ignore the Gumball 3000 race the last time.. they stopped ~ dozend cars and gave away 500EUR fines *haha There was an article in the German magazine "Der Spiegel". Driving Skills.. I won an ADAC (German automobile club) test-racing day on the Nürnburgring 3years ago. Was allowd to drive an Audi A4 DTM-Version (Deutsche/German Touring Mastership) just awesome!
My friend has a highly tuned 911, but he's in the UK so that's not much help! haha The problem with the Elise is that you need to have it set up optimally for you, really... to drive it to its potential. But then, when someone else gets in, the car handles erratically
I must of been lucky then coz it drove mint for me. Ive driven one on a track day and there are spot on for everything Handeling top end ect. didnt stop me beaching it mind.... As for driving skills Ive done road/rally and track driving courses. oh and I can fly planes too
Well, I'd hope an aircraft engineer would have some idea of how they operate!!!!! Here's mine... its not a Ferrari but its similar... haha
For years I used to run a beautiful shiny black Lancia 2.0 i.e, Beta Coupe which had the Aurelio Lampredi designed Twin-Cam engine, those in the know will appreciate the links that Lampredi had with Ferrari. ...I chose to run with the five-point fuel injection system but a supercharged version was available from new as standard if you so wished. ...The Beta made a decent supporting Rally Car to the giant killing Lancia Stratos of the same era. Before I had the Lancia I used to run very lumpy (lumpy as in the cam profile only running properly over 6,000rpm) race engined Mini's, I used to build competion engines for them from scratch, wedged cranks, vernier timing, twin 40 Webbers, straight cut gearboxes, Cooper 'S' braking, the full shooting match ...After the Lancia I went mad on running a Fiat X19, a very underestimated mid-engine, two seater, targa top sports car, which shared several components with various Ferrari models, as they both used the same parts bin at the time! In summary the X19 handled the best, the Lancia went the fastest/sounded the best but the Mini was the most fun! ...Life's is more simple now I run a 25 year old Diesel Land-Rover, top speed about 50mph and TWENTY gears to select from, yes TWENTY !
dad got a BMW M6 for testing it for some days if he wants it as his company-car that car is fucking awesome!!! http://www.bmw.de/de/produkte/automobiles/bmw_m/m6_coupe/index.html 507HP => 250km/h
A car I'd like if I could ever afford it is that Daytona Coupé, A replica of the Shelby Cobra with a coupe. Lots of muscels, not much weight and great breaks.
Not that it really means anything but I have touched a McLaren F1; the most expensive street legal car once upon a time.
Test drove a Maserati a year ago with my old friend when we were down in Miami. Posed as rich bachelors in the city looking to buy exotic cars. A guy near my highschool was selling his ferrari, a 1988 model with automatic tranny for $20K. Had a lil over 100K miles but I heard that thing roar like a tigger and it was in overall great condition. My local Florida lottery jackpot is at $16million. I'm feeling lucky this week, cross your fingers!!
