Not as in doing it, or even modern stuff. I (well my dad) found an old Paul McCartney record, which looks (and sounds) like a bootleg, poor labeling, audio from the audience. all that. Is there any website with a database of performances, so I could see if this was a common one or what? Google isn't helping me so much on this one. Thanks!
Image of album and any markings on it would be useful. Normally even bootlegs will have concert dates, perhaps a catalogue number as vinyl bootlegs are pretty rare. They probably mastered it to cassette initially, but having it pressed to vinyl might might make it an official bootleg, like a fan club release only or something. I really don't know what Apple would of thought of that though and I think McCartney's view of this sort of stuff was pretty grim, unlike bands like The Grateful Dead who actively encouraged it and there are some incredible bootlegs from their legions of fans. Some amazing images of their concerts in the US with huge amounts of recording equipment IN the crowd lol. Try here: http://www.maccafan.net/Bootlegs/bootlegs.htm
Saw that site, and its not on the list. Was waiting for my camera battery to charge, so : The labels are the same on both records, but both have different songs so I dont think they can be trusted really. Its totally not official heh. Oh, and on that site, I went through all the lists and compared the songs that I recognized off one of the sides, and it didnt match any of the vinyl listings. And as a time reference, in the least it is after 1976 because Wings at the Speed of Sound is mentioned. Unfortunately, searching World Records brings up the Guinness book so.
The only Worlds Records I know of is this: http://www.worldsrecords.com/ They are actually pretty famous, but I think it's coincidental. I think you should try contacting one of the many McCartney fanclubs, drop a post and see whether anyone has any ideas. If it's rare you'll get offers no doubt! With 36000+ registered users, someone must know. http://www.paulmccartney.com/
Yeah, listen out for "Good evening (City)...." lol Might get clues from any names shouted out during the line up check (if it's included) as he'll probably gone through quite a few line up changes live even if not in studio.
Fairly certain its from the Denmark concerts in 1976 now http://www.petervanschie.com/cds/rg0104.htm While not matching the CDs or anything, the same songs are in each, so far anyway. Heard a mention of denmark too on one of the records, so its time to track down that CD.
Borman : oh yes Falkoner centret is in Denmark, to be more exact it is in Copenhagen if I am not mistaken, which I doubt.
Well its just a guess, since I only heard one mention of it, but it matches up song wise with what was played there. I dont have the CD to compare so.
