Dead or Alive Xtre-uuuhhhh...mm... Try the original Timesplitters and it's sequels? Or maybe, if you've not played it, Banjo Kazooie on XBLA. If you haven't played that, then it's a must and has one of the best single player experiences ever.
It was my first experience with the 360 way way way back in the day. Loved it then. Picked it up again before Christmas as it was cheap and was looking forward to some mildly nostalgic zombie slaying...nope, you're right it's fucking awful. The second one is even worse.
LA Noire was a good game so was Red Dead, beat them though. I've played both the Batman games on 360, loved them. Darksiders 1 is better on PC, so I'm waiting for a better computer. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is really good, I've beaten it maybe 9 times because I speedrun it. Gears 1 - 3 campaigns are good, 4 is terrible. I'm probably going to give DMC a try, beat Tomb Raider, not a racing game fan, beat Portal 2, beat Orange Box, Beat Red Dead, Beat Limb, Beat Super Meat boy. I'm probably picking up that game later. Thanks for the suggestion. I felt Crackdown was a bit boring. Lost Planet games are boring in my opinion, had no real interest in them.
