I'm thinking about it but I will probably pick it up when it gets cheaper. I may buy it sooner if I find out how long does it take to finish it.
Got it up and running yesterday on my pc after about an hour or so of crashing on start up. I bought it from Steam. Since yesterday I've put 14 hours into it. Honestly, it's pretty addicting. After reading all the negative reviews, I kinda get the feeling people are playing the game wrong. There are objectives and waypoints that move you along, but they're subtle. I didn't even notice them until after the first hour or so. I'm currently following the Atlas missions. Most of what i read, people are getting bored after the first hour or so, but they aren't following the Atlas missions. Maybe Hello Games needs to add a little more hand holding to so people know exactly what to do.
No, no hand holding! I like the way it is, you really get that alone explorer feeling this way. If they started prompting you where to go like every other newish game it would loose a lot of the mystery and wonder. Let the impatient ADD folks get their complaints in before they go back to call of duty. It really doesn't matter what they think if you enjoy the game.
Yeah, games are only like 60 bucks tops for PC. Anything less than new is much less. I'd rather support a dev than torrent nowadays.
I will say, a lot of the criticisms are valid. Steam says I've put in 23 hours, which is probably closer to 20-21. I'm starting to play the game differently and streamlining my approach.
I have it on PS4 Pro and will be able to get the "NEXT" update for free, news came out today it will be coming to Xbox this summer in 4K/HDR. https://twitter.com/NoMansSky
