Anything work for capturing video on a cpu?

    I dont get what you are trying to do. What exactly are you trying to capture, and how much money to you want to spend? Those EZ Capture things are crap really.

    Yeah what are you trying to record? Because if you are just trying to capture footage of a device that has HDMI out you can always use an Elgato capture card. I have one and its amazing.

    I just wanna get videos from a dish hopper tv box and rip them in standard quality. I don't really wanna spend much.

    The top one wouldnt work but the easycap one would, the quality is just really bad.

    That looks good enough then. Youtube videos aren't always the best quality anyway. People expect that. Think I'll get the 2nd one then.

    Also this laptop don't have 1080p resolution so getting one with a hdmi port is out of the question.

    Err, you know HDMI does other resolutions, right? That, plus you don't HAVE to be able to see the video at 100% to capture it!

    Some set top devices may have something akin to Macrovision, to stop you from recording. You'd need to research that.

    Well, the one I'm getting works on xp so that seems like the one for me. I don't think this computer is very powerful and if it works on xp then chances are it'll work on this. I'm just doing this for youtube videos anyway and the only way I can enjoy them in 1080p is to dl them and then play them on the blu ray player.
