Anybody knows how to identify a ps1 model (the small white ones) as the serial and model number at the back was very torn
What do you know? if it's a PAL or NTSC or if it's a pm41v1 or pm41v2? If you can take a photo of the motherboard would be easy
P.S. The modchip installed onto the console was 12C508/P SAW modchip, it's a fake copy of the 12C508A, installed by the pre-owner
The sticker is not original. You may find the original sticker under this shit if it wasn't removed be someone who attached this fake sticker.
If you want to find what the original model was, the easiest way is to look at that little square chip in the middle of the board. It should have a number starting with "SC4309" on it SC430942PB: SCPH-100 or SCPH-103 NTSC:J SC430943PB: SCPH-102 PAL SC430944PB: SCPH-101 NTSC:U/C
Different markets - SCPH-100 is Japanese domestic model and SCPH-103 is the Asian export model. The console is the same, and both models are designed to boot NTSC:J discs. In fact, that's a SCPH-103, but I only know that because it's still got the warranty warning label on it, and it's written in English and (traditional) Chinese - the label on the SCPH-100 is written only in Japanese.
OMG! As I googling on the Internet, I found that a 103 model is very rare and there were few of people using it, so there wasn't any guide around there saying how to mod it, but thanks anyways for help me figure it out
As far as modding it is concerned, it's exactly the same as the SCPH-100. The connections are the same as the SCPH-101, but you have to use a chip that's designed for Japanese machines (I.E. one that outputs a "SCEI" boot string).
So, it means to mod a 100 or 103 model, I can follow the same diagram as a 101 model, but have to use a modchip that supports NTSC-J like mayumi v5 or mm3 (jap), right?
I figured that I could share some pics of my SCPH-101, SCPH-102 and 103 for references sake. SCPH-101 Front SCPH-101 Back SCPH-102 Front SCPH-102 Back SCPH-103 Front SCPH-103 Back
