So I ordered 2 blinking ligt wins back in August when their website status for them was "pre-order." They said units would be shipping in September. Come September I hear nothing from them so I sent a few emails only to get NO RESPONSE. Now their site says they're IN STOCK, but I still haven't received anything and they still won't answer any emails AT ALL. I've gone ahead and made a claim in Paypal because there was only a few days left of buyer protection. They have not responded to me via Paypal either. The case has been escalated and waiting to see if they will answer me or Paypal will just give me my money back. This is not a way to run a business. Yes...we are now almost in November..
I actually met the founder and creator of Arcade Works, the Omega MVS, and the Blinking Light Win in person.. impatient, would interrupt you, treats you like a bum rather than a potential customer. I don't care how good your products are, if you're an idiot in person I'm not supporting your business.
I'm not surprised. I paid up front months ago and I can't even get a response to an email asking what's going on. A simple response would've gone a long way and I would've felt more comfortable waiting, but no response makes me feel like this company is full of crap. Plus there's rumors of people from Kickstarter not even getting theirs.
Looks like the rumors are true from what I've seen online. These guys are not to be trusted at all. Can someone who is a lot more compassion and friendliness make and sell something similar so we can get these without this crap?
The founder and creator doesn't know a thing about customer service, or how to interact with people giving him cash in any way. Be very happy you only got a couple Blinking Light Wins, and not a full on Omega MVS system.. Plus he also overcharges for things. When I met him he had a 100 in 1 MVS cart for $100... you can get the 161 in 1, BRAND NEW, for less than that price. Sorry you have to deal with this clown man
Yeah, a claim is already in order. If he doesn't respond, which I doubt he will, Paypal will just refund me.
What is a "blinking light win" anyway? It looks like it's just a replacement connector with a ciclone built into it?
It makes it so that you don't have to press down the carts when you put them in your NES, it just connects regularly like a Famicom connector instead of clamping down like a set of teeth.
Reading the page, he's being clever. https://www.arcadeworks.net/best-72-pin-replacement-nintendo-cartridge-connector He says "in stock" however in bold text says new orders will only be honoured when the kickstarter ones have been dispatched, which is somewhat vague. So anyone who orders one when it says "in stock" will be on later backorder than those who ordered when it was "out of stock", and also how many are there actually in stock vs amount owed by kickstarter and also backorders? Potentially, if kickstarter people don't get their goods due to lack of volume then any newer customers will certainly not get the goods, meaning he'll take the money and not be honourable as will just keep orders hanging until the payments can't be withdrawn. Bad practices indeed. As you say, get your money back and run.
Well I mean going off of the person who founded Arcade Works... Expect it with any order. Glad you got your money back.
I wouldn't order from that site, let alone what has been said about the person. Its design is horrible, the categorization is poor, the grammar is bad, they have no uniformity in their logo, the Blinking Light Win (terrible name) just has a poorly mocked up NES box image rather than an actual photo of the item, the issues mentioned already about in stock vs. will ship after Kickstarter... yeah, just a poor operation all round. It makes me laugh that the only links on the top bar to what should be sales categories are classic accessories and stuff you need (horrible title) - both of which are empty! You're right - I need nothing from you!
Well, I've just got my money back after ordering an Omega CMVS back in early February. It says clearly on the order page 'Usually Ships in 1-2 Weeks'. So, I wait 2 weeks, no sign of any shipping. I then notice at the bottom of the same page '*Usually Ships in 2 to 3 weeks.' so slight contradiction there. However, willing to give the benefit of the doubt, I wait another week and a bit. Still nothing. By this time I'd started reading up on the owner of Arcade Works and I didn't like what I found. Decided to cancel as I could see where this was going. Had to open a Paypal dispute in the end. Was refunded by the owner a day before Paypal would of automatically paid me back. The sad thing is, going back just a couple of years, Arcade Works seemed to of had a lot of praise. It's only recently it's gone to rat shit. Shame, but I won't give my money to bad service. A guy I know on another forum ordered at about the same time as me - I'll have to ask if he's heard anything.
glad i bumped into this thread, i was thinking of buying one of their omega, now i most probably wont
Someone else needs to make a version of that NES cart slot replacement and tray because it's too good of an idea to have to deal with nonsense over a small relatively inexpensive purchase.
If that's all it does, might as well use a Game Genie to make cart loading a little easier or manually solder a better connector.
