are there any bad snes rpgs

does the snes actualy have any bad rpgs atall because from what ive played most of them have been great but if theres any rpg duds on the snes please tell me because im not seeying any

There are loads of really shitty RPGs for the SFC in Japan. The only reason you don't know about them is because they never got translated in to English.

 

Two SNES games off the top of my head Secret of the stars too generic for my tastes and brandish IMO due to the camera made the game for me personally nauseating.

Do Action-RPGs count? A lot of people seem to hate Lagoon.
What about imports?

 

ive played some good imports rpg wise (ever played star ocean or seiken densetsu 3)

I'm not sure about "bad" rpgs, but there are plenty that seem mediocre or average. Also since this is a matter of opinion it's hard to say as someone may really like one game that others really don't like. If E.V.O. counts, I'd call that really overrated. It gets alot of praise from some. But I really didn't find it to be a very fun game. I only played Final Fantasy Mystic Quest briefly and I didn't care for it breaking from the style of FF4, 5, and 6. I don't know that it's a "bad" game though.

Some game called Obitus came up on a search for "worst snes rpgs". I don't know how many terrible or broken games exist on SNES. It's nothing like the amount of crappy games you could find on NES.

 

i dont like E.V.O because its fun i like E,V.O because ive played nothing that played like it in my life come on you have to admit a rpg based on evolution is kind unique

 

I do agree, that's it's charm. It's pretty unique. The problem is the actual game you have to play is not that great. It's not terrible though.

 

i always saw e v o as more of a experience than a game like conkers bad fur day or earthbound

 

I got one! Ahem.. the worst snes rpgs on the system definitely gotta be "Final Fanasty 6 (or VI) whatever is terrible! And also Lufia 2 is another, and Final Fanasty 4 (or IV) lastly but not least is "Chrono Trigger" Worst rpg imo! Way too overrated for no damn reason :/ just because it was made by Squaresoft & Akira Toiyama doesn't mean squat to me really. There are way better Square rpgs on the system than that like Live A Live, Hanaku Hero & Front Mission.

 

i like chrono trigger but i admit people praise it wayyy to much(why does that game get so much love and terranigma which is the better gamegets no love

Yeah sorry about that, but it does get praised for nothing. But Super Famicom rpgs imho are wayyy better than the ones we got here officially plus the fact the Japanese exclusives & versions are completely uncensored while USAs aren't and Never will! That being said, now my favorite SFC ones are definietly Love Quest (Love that game to death), Chaos Seed (which just got a fan translation not too long ago), G.O.D & Legend of the River King 2, Madou Mogaterai Big Kidergarden Kids, Dark Kingdom (sorta of) and lastly but not least Mystic Ark. :-D

I know right?!! I agree with you! I'd wonder why Squaresoft translators never bother finishing up or bringing it over? Instead we got crappy Secret of Evermore! Bleh.. I was so pissed off when I found out about Seiken Densetsu 3 aka part 2 was the true sequal we've didn't get! Maybe that's one of the reasons I kinda hate Nintendo nowadays because of that shit they pull off! Nintendo of Japan will Always be the better division! In my opinion.

 

A couple anime-based SFC RPGs come to mind. They aren't terrible, just mediocre.

 

the thing is i liked secret of mana it had tis issues but it was a fun game but it just pisses me off that seiken 3 dosent even get a ps1 release

atleast tales of phantasia got a gba release in the west and terranigma got released in the pal regions
