Grr! Some complete *&%^ just outbid me LITERALLY at the last second on a complete copy of Crow: City of Angels on PS1!!!!! Its the first copy ive seen in over 2 months!! and the only copy thats on just now. So peeved. GRR! ZAG
So someone bid more then the maximum you were prepared to pay? Why are you angry about that? Sounds like you were just being cheap and it's you're own fault for not bidding what you were prepared to pay. :-D
I'm a big fan of the first Crow of the otherwise crap series. After having tried this game, I got rid of it ASAP. Not a very fun one, but a good one for collector's nonetheless.
It was my fault I was too busy watching some video my cus made on the net while ALSO attempting to watch my auction. I was gonna bid more but was engrossed in this crappy but funny banjo video GAZ
Even if you do watch it, there are bastards that have sniping software. I've lost many good deals like that, for the minimum difference (sometimes less than a dollar) in the last fuggin' second. It's so aggravating I quit ebay for good a couple of years ago. Maybe I just had VERY bad luck, but it sucks arse.
i didnt know about that :smt009 ..... can anyone else confirm about people using software to snipe/cheat ....... it just wrong :-(
I use it everytime, it saved me lots of money ... www.esnipe.com advantages: - I do not have to sit on my pc when the auction ends - I do not have to stay up all night, if something ends in a different timezone - most people don't enter what they are willing to pay, so even if I would outbid them anyway, I do pay less than what I would have to pay otherwise ...
Out of respect for others, I don't snipe. The argument used to support it -namely, "you have no right to bitch because you didn't put in your max bid in the first place"- is crap, since those same people could put in their max bids when they see the item and not screw around getting someone else to do it on their behalf. Bottom line, I get really pissed when I get outbid by 50p in the last 3 seconds, so I don't do it to others, out of common courtesy.
you will ALWAYS get outbid by the minimum increase, so the whining "by 50 cent, by just 1 dollar" is bulls**t, the winner propably entered a much higher amount then you were ... of course I could put my max-bid, when I first see it, in fact, I do, but not on ebay, on esnipe, if it was enough when the auction ends -> so be it, if it was not enough -> my bad, then I simply don't win ... I have the right to bid whenever I want, I just know how to use the system appart from those who are to stupid to decide what they actually want to spend for an item, why should I get myself involved into bidding wars with these people ? They end up raising the price of an auction to limits they never actually wanted to pay just to "win" ... people should stop seeing ebay as a game and see it as a marketplace -> highest bidder in time gets the item ... that way I also protect myself from sellers, who raise their auctions with other accounts, when I am the only interested buyer ... why is it screwing around when I don't bid myself, but let a program do it ? (in fact, ebays bid agent does the same, you enter your max and it raises until you are outbid or highbidder, they just don't give you the option to do it in the last possible moment, as a higher endprice means more fees for them ...)
I snipe ALL the time. It's not my fauly if you don't know how to work eBay. Put in your highest bid. Some one snipes you, they still need to be bidding more than you are willing to. Hammertap is what I use
Whats wrong with sniping? There is no rule against it. My Mom got some dirty emails when I sniped for a few rare sega saturn games before, though. :-D
There is no law against having sex with your best m8s mother, sister then his girlfirend but that doesn't make it any more right. Sniping = lame, no 2 ways about. Those who do only bring shame and dishonour to their families! The whole 'put in your max bid' thing is fucking bullshit too. I put in the max I am either willing to pay or able to afford, if I got outbid I'd consider bidding higher but going into debt, and what's just not something you can do when you get a quarter of a second to notice you're outbid, react, bid higher etc ... Infact sniping is a contributing factor to sellers shilling auctions ... because fuckwits are being retarded and sniping and only 1 guy is bidding on the auction, of course the seller will start shilling to make up the £££ ...
You remember that CS flash a while back? I bet someone could just edit the sound and change it, so It could be ebay sniping related. Nerd-You have been outbid! Damn snipin' bitch ass mother fucker! You fuckin' deserve a ban you fygot!!!! Days later-You have been outbid again!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smt043
Mr. Casual's argument does hold up here. He's saying that it isn't illegal, and he doesn't care. That's one thing, hell I think it's an asshole-ish attitude but that's up to him. What's different is people trying to justify it with stuff like "you should put in your highest bid to begin with". Yeah? So should you. If you did, then the "highest bidder in time" would be the winner. You don't need to snipe for that to be the case. Nobody sees ebay as a "game", come on... it's not like their trying to level up with currency for chist's sake. It's an AUCTION SITE. You bid until one person doesn't go any higher.
Im just a little paranoid thats all. :-D It might be an "asshole-ish" attitude, but im glad as long as I get the item. I once bid on a item while the person with the highest bid was at work, with no computer I guess, :-D I didnt feel bad at all when I got the item in question.
The way I see it, sniping is ok. Infact, I snipe all the time because that is the only way I can win auctions nowadays. However, I don't believe in programs that snipe for you. I do all my sniping manually, and I think that is how it should be done. Those of you who use sniping programs are weak AND worthless :smt042 jk
You guys need to learn to snipe, instead of crying about "losing" the bid. Besides, bidding the "polite" way, would make the price real high, because it would start a bid war. Sneak attacks are not only effective, but keep costs down. I also love to snipe on Halo. :-D :smt042 :smt043
