I've only just bought and started playing the new Tomb Raider (Underworld) on the PS3. Already found a few bugs, including a fatal error. On the second section of the game (The Med) you jump off the boat, get sucked under it by some obscure unseen current and then simply cannot swim, struggle, float, dive away from it. Initially when I attempted it I was fine, I got to the bottom and was happily floating around until a bomb blew the crap out of me. As soon as it reloaded, this obscure current just keeps me suspended in animation. So, I think to myself, quit the game, the bug will go away... wrong! It's fine at this sort of stage as I have only just started, but it's a major pain in the ass 3/4 of the way through a game if you have to re-start an entire level or for some reason cannot proceed and have to start the entire game. What a pain in the ass! Anyone else spotted anything wrong with Underworld or am I just 'lucky'?
yes, apparently the tigers attack you for no particular reason, despite not being provoked - oh wait, that's a feature I played the demo on the 360 and it seemed to be quite smooth all around with no bugs , but that's just a demo. If bugs become too many or persist, I would contact the publisher/developer of the title and urge them to patch whatever it is they rushed for XMAS season.
I've just had to start an entirely new game. There was no way to combat the killer tide. You get sucked under the boat and although at first I thought, damn it I must have to find a specific way out from underneath the boat, it's simply not possible to escape. You can't go anywhere or dive. Let go of the controls and you magically float underneath the boat again. Who the hell debugged this thing, it's so early in the game and such a huge flaw you'd have thought someone picked it up? Just for an added bonus if you keep swimming, Lara pulls her guns and starts firing for no apparent reason. Bullshit bug!
Yeah, but the good part of this new gen is that they can patch games via XBlive and PSN. Contact the publisher!
The last few Tomb Raider games have been really fun but really fucking buggy and glitchy. Legend isn't as terrible, but Anniversary for the 360 was outsourced by some assholes and was pretty crappy. MAJOR bugs. Underworld's demo had some funky stuff in it, the Wii one has game busting bugs like this. Maybe the PS3 one is outsourced by the same dicks? On the demo I handed my girlfriend the controller and within a few minutes she somehow got stuck underwater into some rocks. Maybe it's like your bug! I think someone got me this for sexmas so I hope I don't run into it. It seems like every game now has glitches/bugs....I guess I can understand with the scope but jeez!
Take it back to the retailer - if it's unfit for purpose they have to have it back under the Sale of Goods Axt. They probably won't be very happy about it, though Stone
Hey parris, Can you show us a video through a link or directly? Its a shame to hear your having trouble, I liked the original my self. Good luck!:icon_bigg
Imagine how much of a pain in the ass this will be in 20 years though. You won't be able to just pop a game in and play it without tracking down obscure patches just to make things work properly. Patching is nice, but it could promote laziness in development and render some otherwise decent games unplayable after they have run their sales course and settled into obsolescence. -ServiceGames-
i had some big problems on the 360 demo, too was diving around, enjoying the gfx and BAM! stuck, i drowned -__- and it seems like jumping is buggy as hell, sometimes i reach the the spot where to hang and sometimes not, even if doin everything the same way i won't buy this piece of crap!
I've completed all the PS1 versions all the PS2 versions, duplicate titles on Dreamcast and played, but never really finished the last 2 on 360 without coming across something so dire it actually screwed the game entirely. Thought I'd be ok tbh. I can chop the video up as currently it is too big to host on my usual site.
The moral of the story is.... If you're out boating, be careful or you might get sucked off! They should have put up a sign, like these nice people....
Posted up a video on YouTube after much messing around with my new Christmas present (which technically I am not allowed for another 48hours or so). Just opened the box, took video footage and closed it all back up again so I've not even looked at the manual. Cute little Panasonic HDD camera. Please ignore my incredulous voice, I was so pissed off by the bug. Also, previously when I had let go of the controls Lara Croft was swept under the boat. Of course when I said '...and if I let go of the controls...' she didn't! My wife sounds so enthusiastic lol - she was in bed and couldn't give a monkeys about whether Lara Croft was able to get free or not. The guns fire all by themselves. Let go of the controller and it zeros to a position underneath the boat. Swim all you like, but the current is so strong you go nowhere. Dive and you stop about 2 inches down and immediately float to the zero point under the boat. I swam and I swam and in the end had to start the game again! Frankly, a total pain in the arse! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qewxlicqUs
Wow, that is recockulous...Is the game fun aside from the bugs? Legend was one of the funnest games I've played lately. I really like climbing and jumping on stuff and the locales. Was the PS2 one worth playing at all? I think that's the only one I never played. TR2 should be remade.
