Pirated Ultimate x64. If I could use the full 8 GB of RAM, getting a legit copy would seriously be a very, very nice purchase. Those extra 4 GB would be great for 3ds Max, AutoCAD and FPGA compiling...
Do you have integrated graphics on your motherboard in addition to your Radeon 5770? If so, that could be using the additional memory and you can turn it off in the BIOS. I've had no problems with Windows 7 64-bit, though. I've been using it since it came out (a little before, in fact).
Okay, I entered BIOS and went to advanced chipset features. there was a section that said *VGA SETTING* PEG/onchip VGA I changed from Auto to PEG. The Init Display First became PCI, which I changed to PCI EX. and still 3.25gb usable. I'm unsure what to do really Board is a foxconn g31mx If anybody has any experience with it.
I've got a 5770 too and no integrated VGA, yet I get the same thing. My motherboard is an ASUS P5B-Deluxe by the way, it says in the box that it supports up to 8 GB...
They mention those are untouched, but fuck knows who makes it, and uploads it etc... So you're better off with a base version ISO.
It really sounds to me like a 32-bit version was installed, although I saw your other post that said Windows 7 64-bit SP1. If it were me I would find a retail ISO for Windows 7 64-bit (very easy to find for whatever version you're using) and reinstall. Can't help you as far as the key you're using goes. I've never had that problem with Windows 7 64-bit, but I've seen 32-bit show 4GB (3.25 usable) dozens of times.
I have an untouched ISO. I intend to burn that and then use D-L to get past the key. If we still have an issue seeing 4gbs of ram and the performance issues then I'd say my hardware isn't powerful enough or we have a serious issue.
Make sure you use a loader It should detect 4GB RAM, only once my Windows said I had 2GB after a restart it said 4GB so, Windows sometimes has difficulty understand RAM . Also you should reseat your RAM.
yeah idek. I downloaded http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/5533873/Microsoft_Windows_7_Ultimate_Retail_x86_and_x64_UNTOUCHED_DVD and created a USB with it. When I went to select my harddrive to install to it wanted a ''system'' drive and wouldnt install. I had to reinstall with my ''Xinone'' disc.
just delete all the partitions on your main hdd and just click the blank space. it will sort itself out then. (assuming you dont have a data partition on your main drive)
I took out my media hd so it was just that one main HDD. Then I deleted all the partitions and I think I probably formatted it so no dice there. Maybe if I have the itch (and I probably will within the end of the week) to reinstall everything AGAIN (3 times in 3 weeks now) I'll give it a go
