hey what camra did you use?

i like the alpha dev kit for the xbox

that means you could probably flash a retail bios on it and use it to play retail games xD

yah you still need at the very least a dev/debug kit bios or a retail xbox bios dump assuming the components are all the same to the letter

Retail Xbox is totally different, as are debug bios. You need specific stuff. And even then, it doesn't work quite that easily.

Google "how to build an alpha xbox" and you can see the kind of work that is required.

People have NEVER installed Windows XP onto an Xbox natively. It is NOT made from simply off the shelf parts, if that were the case people would have been able to do even more with it. Its not far from it in most cases, but even the slightest modification meant that its not off the shelf. And the Alpha is totally different hardware (and software for that matter).

Alpha kits are prototypes smart guy :p also the xbox from the start always used an intel CPU usually a pIII. celarons are just re-badged pIII's

it may of been customized but its still the old workhorse the pIII

Haha, a friendly word of advise, please do some research before being the 'smart guy'

Oh wait a minute, I forgot the processor is a processor, my PC is basically an Xbox!!! :banghead:

EDIT: just tried, my PC doesn't play Xbox games. You must be telling me lies!

Seriously, the Alpha is completely different, Dano2k0 is totally correct. This coming from someone who actually OWNS and Alpha kit, with software, which, surprise, doesnt run on retail or debug hardware.

angelworlf, you are completely missing the point.

We know what the Alpha consits of, it is adapted parts for the most part.

The DVT3 and DVT4 / final hardware is nothing like the Alpha which you refered to as being alike?

And EVEN STILL, the Alpha kit isnt off the shelf hardware. It has been modified for the job. Read the link I posted in detail. It required hardware and software mods to get it to do anything. If that is off the shelf, then I must have missed the memo.

they ARE alike they use off the shellf chipsets and cpu's

the only thing that separates them really is the bios/os and some securaty that makes the bios incompatable with dev and retail.. but that dosnt mean it cant be done its doable just not easy
