Atomiswave ports to Dreamcast Petition

Discussion in 'Rare and Obscure Gaming' started by Greatsaintlouis, Jun 8, 2004.

  1. I don't know if anyone here really cares or not, but there is a petition going around requesting that Sammy at least look into porting Atomiswave games for the Dreamcast. It doesn't take too long to fill out, and I for one am interested in at least telling Sammy that home ports of their games would be appreciated. If anyone would care to join in, the link is here:

Yes, I realize that signatures on a petition are no guarantee that a company would do anything - if I recall, the number of signatures on the Mother 3 petition a few years back was in the thousands or ten thousands, but there was still no release. However, on the other hand, I thought it was upon the strength of petitions that got Chrono Trigger rereleased on PSX here. In any case, don't expect any super results from this, but at least let the company know you're interested (if you really are).

    *signs*

CT was released on PSX cuz of petitions?? Maybe for Japan, but it wasn't until Square was smart enough to bundle both FF4 and CT to release it over here. That is very thoughtful of them.

It's cool peeps still support the DC, it did very well hanging in their till recently but now I think the gjhost is really up.

I'd be suprised if even the new & future Naomi game get ported, such as the upcomming shooter recently tested at Taito arcade Japan.

I'll still sign, id like to see em fo sure.

    Hey that's great art :smt023

Plz print it out and send it to Max from Dreamcast-Scene.com (the one who is responsible for bringing Border Down to the Dreamcast), see postal adress below!

I'd like to thank you all for your support!

Since I like spamming all forums... :smt033

This new attempt has been started by a Portoguese DC fan that I am currently in contact with to change the text of the Petition

Similar to the NAOMI arcade board (Border Down), the ATOMISWAVE hardware by Sammy (Guilty Gear X / GG Isuka) is nothing less then a slightly modified Dreamcast so it would be very easy to port these games to our little white wonder.
The Atomiswave is pretty comparable to NAOMI 2 so it has more RAM, but it should be very easy to do a decent port to DC:

    Atomiswave specs:
    DC specs:
= adds to 24 MB MAIN RAM (excluding sound)

    32 > 24 = The rest actually is identical!

Easy as hell to convert that down!

The official ATOMISWAVE website can be found here

For SNK it's something like the official NEOGEO 2:

    MVS 2 = Atomiswave (and that's offical!)

    AES 2 = Dreamcast?

...and beside that SEGA and SAMMY are like one company now:

These screenshots were taken from the game Dolphin Blue, a Metal Slug type 2 player and 2 dimensional action game with 3D polygon graphics. :smt043

If you'd like to support the idea to bring Atomiswave games to DC you can write online a little message to Sammy using this contact form!

Max aka Freeze of www.Dreamcast-Scene.com still takes your contributions to the paper petition he runs and will send them to SAMMY!

    Here's what he said:

Just set up your own little petition and pass them over to Max:

    Hopefully it works

    Chris

    PS:

I've got reply from André Oliveira as I send him a new text for his petition I wrote:

Again, thank you all for your support and greets to Greatsaintlouis :smt023

  17. Nice to see you here, Christuserloeser! Thanks for the added bit of info on the paper petitions and such, I hope people can find the time to send some in if it means this project will be realized.

Maybe I read incorrectly, but did you imply that a petition similar to this was what brought BorderDown to the Dreamcast? If so, that's heartening news!

And thanks again everyone for chipping in on this!

    Cool...

Glad some of you guys liked my mock-up. If anyone wants any of my original PSD (Photshop) files I used to create the image, just drop me an email at: Sonikku@EliteGamer.com

Just credit me if you use 'em anywhere else please.
    The files are 3.7MB zipped.

  19. Yes :smt023

Max aka Freeze sent them some paper petition signatures and this project became reality. :prayer:

@Sonikku: Actually it would be nice to have them!
Would u mind to send them to Christuserloeser@dcevolution.net ?
Be sure to set a little petition up, print out ur picture and send it to Dreamcast-Scene.com (adress above) too

    Thank you,

    Chris
