no you don't but then they just look like big plastic kit. :-D you need to paint - in effect giving shadow & depth to the surface for them to look much more real... and the inner movable frame is in one colour so you will want to paint to show off as well :smt023 the RX-78-2 in the beginning of the thread shows off the painting quite nicely... cheers
do you think you have a picture of a unpainted model somewhere around just for comparision cause i know iam bad at brushing and painting such thing (assembling shouldnt be the problem )
here it shows the difference just lining plus bit of point painting can make. The rest are unpainted.:-D and here's the shots what it would look like just assembling and bit of lining and spot painting can do. assembled out of box - just like plastic kit :smt022 bit of line and what a difference it can make :-D *courtesy of dalong.net
I've seen that 1/12 scale Zaku assembled. It was in a tiny store in the Aberdeen region of Hong Kong at the time. Personally, aside from that monstrosity, I'd have to give this the nod for most wicked Gundam model: http://www.scififantmodmadrealm.com/HGLargeScaledDendrobiumOOBR.html I stick to the little models though, usually the SUPER tiny SD Gundam stuff. I'd never have the time/skillz to tackle something like this.
yep at only 1/144 how big is that thing. wonder Bandai will make one in Pergect Grade? that will make it over 2 metre in length! :-(
Given Master Grade is taller than Perfect Grade I'd say aroundr 1.5 metre mark would be the good bet. now how on earth you are going to display at home is another issue altogether...
It would be 1/60 if it were PG. I did a little research on our little friend big Zam, and if it were PG I would say *about* 1 meter. Is there anything bigger than him? How bout a 1/12 scale just like that Zaku model. :smt043
hmm... 1/144 Big Zam is bigger than MG RX-78-2. So if 1/144 is taller than say 60 cm then at 1/100 MG Big Zam would be more than 1/2 taller/bigger so you are right it would be around 1.1-1.2 metre rather than 1.5 I said earlier. Now if they make it in PG at 1/60 then this bad boy would be in around 1.5-1.6 metre. So it will be similar to 1/12 HY2M Zaku. If you look at HY2M 1/12 Zaku this thing is almost in scale to human - and I bet you can actually put the armour of Zaku on you if you want. from what I saw its machine is 1:1 scale to the real gun - you can hold in your hand just like real gun... now if you can get two guys dressed in HY2M 1/12 Zaku and RX-78-2 (I know there isn't for Gundam but hypothetically speaking) armours and welding machine gun and beam rifle... think I better stop...heh And at 1/12 scale I don't think it's going to fit inside any one's house.... cheers
Na, if it's 1:1 scale with a human it'd fit. Six or seven feet tall. Just put it in the front hall or study like a suit of armo Life Sized RX-78: (waist up only, poo) http://web-japan.org/kidsweb/news/03-09/gundam.html I swear I've seen shots of a life sized red Zaku before too, the whole thing. I don't know if it was some kind of temporary promo thing or what...
You know, I prefer Bandai's American model difficulty rating system - a number from 1 to 10, 1 being a basic 1/144 model, 10 being the PG Wing Zero. A bit clearer, at least to me.
you just have to see this one... http://www.sakakibara-kikai.co.jp/products/other/LW.htm now what on earth...
