sorry to resurrect old thread but I finally finished my longest model building project - well had to put it aside for a long time plus could only work 10-20 minutes at night... Master Grade (1/100 scale) Gundam kit that I finished after starting eons ago - actually before I got married... along the way had to repaint in Max style though not quite happy with the result... after all it was my first attempt anyway. Also did little bit of customization - ditching the shield and putting extra nozzle where the beam sabers are used to be... and slightly different colour scheme... what do you think? p.s. Now I need to finish that 1/144 scale S-Gundam Sentinel that I was building full scratch back in High school...
Did you paint that Gundam your self? It's very good ! I was a bit of a Gundam or GANDAM as they call itr here when I lived in the UK but these days I hardly ever watch anime. I loved it when I was in my early 20's. I even saw and still have some of GaijinPunch's translated versions of anime such as Masion Ikkoku since he said he did some stuff for cathedral animation. Yakumo
yep! that was my first attempt at the max style air brush though I had to do twice as I wasn't happy with my first attempt - too much red tint... although I love Gundam saga, I only like UC era with Amuro and Char...
ok here's one of my old PG kit... think I went bit overboard with shading but then I didn't know MAX style shading back then... Mk-II ver 2.0 is on the other hand quick assembly/hack not so long ago after I got hold of the kit someone attempted to build but due to lack of time passed on to me... I've yet to build the launching pad as I ran out of time before got back to work after few weeks of annual leave... (that's the 1/100 full scratch built Guntank in front by the way) hope you enjoy...
thanks... from memory those PG kits took around 4-5 weeks each - think I only worked about 2 hours at night back then before mom came in and turned off the light... Those were all carefully packed and stored away at my parents place before I moved out... And I almost forgot about those till I drop by to say hello to mom during my leave and I went to attic to check out my old stuff and found those. What a surprise huh?! Mk-II ver 2.0 on the other hand took me two full days - Saturday and Sunday. I got it from someone with the inner skeleton partially assembled so didn't took that long to finish off though I haven't done the launching pad bits yet...
wish I haven't started... anyway while missus and kid are away I've been busy with this little project... (well more of headache than anything else since I'm still working on after three days - I'd say there's still 80% to go before I can start to paint) probably will overhaul the details completely as I'm not happy with the current ones... http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/1973/p10507666jy.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/5308/p10507680fy.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/3860/p10507710co.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/1996/p10507727vm.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/9453/p10507732xu.jpg (didn't cost any since I'm using junk parts mainly... and the base is what missus bought for one of her pet project) p.s. it's bl00dy hard doing with knife, cutter and super glue only - wich I have my old tools with me...
And latest shots... http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/7431/p10507759tx.jpg http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/2889/p10507748ep.jpg http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/7596/p10507782oa.jpg http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/5876/p10507793dy.jpg Gundam's shoulder damage is now more in line with the techincal drawing or so I think... think of it as the outer plate of shoulder socket module blown away with the inner pipes exposed... they are basically four rods connected to make square box shape module according to the spec...
