Sorry but I trust no one with the keys to the car but myself.

Unless I hired you, in which case I would have you sign a legally binding contract.

I can see that such a system has its merits, although knowing when someone is banned can be useful, too.

For example, user omgihaveRE15 states he has a popular game. He may try to sell a beta of a popular game, and it turns out to be a fake. People kick off, you delete the thread, find out that it was indeed a fake and ban the user.

If I hadn't read the thread, I'd have no idea that omgihaveRE15 is banned, or why. I may try to contact him (maybe he left his website info) and could also get scammed by him.

Had his previous posts read as:

    omgihaveRE15

    BANNED
    known scammer

...then I wouldn't have contacted him.

Of course, a situation like that would never arise here, would it? ;)

As for vBulletin support, are you talking about vbulletin.com/forum or vbulletin.org? You get a month of ticketing support if you upgrade to 5, maybe that would be the best solution. Although it's in beta :\

    Scammers are different.

People seeking to create problems are another thing.

A banned avatar and status can empower a troll, like a grave marker.

I prefer the obama approach to osama, throw his ass in the ocean in an unmarked grave never to be found.

    I understand your viewpoint, ASSEMbler.
    1. If you were to make a banlist within an easily accessible and public part of the site listing the banned user and what got them to get banned, there would be less to no drama, as many threads typically ask "why was (user) banned?"
    2. Your second point is a matter of opinion and since you run things its really up to you.

Also, you mentioned you only have a few hours of free time, and minor things get ignored. That's fine and all, but why open up a site feedback forum that would be more than likely to be prone to suggestions?

You gave him your feedback. That doesn't mean that he is just going to drop everything and implement every little suggestion (both good or bad) that pops up here.
