I just got back from Target, who are selling Assassin's Creed for $38 on the XB360 and PS3. Not a bad price, although I know it has received mixed reviews.

Yeah I picked it up from Best Buy, and promptly sold it back at the same price. Horrible game on the PS3 anyway

Not a bad game in my opinion, but it does get repetitive.

Different Target stores may discount specific items based on the manager's discretion, when there's overstock or some other inventory issue. They'll go back every week and adjust these prices in unsold items, and add new things to the pile. Video games are on the list of things that get discounted and placed on a back shelf out of the way, so that there's room for this week's popular item in the secured display area. I managed to pick of All Pro Football 2K8 for $8 that way. Targets that are foolish enough to order niche titles tend to discount them as well; I saw copies of Tales of Symphonia, Phantom Brave, Rogue Galaxy and each of the Xenosaga games on the discount shelves for under $15 when they got there. If you're lucky, that copy of Assassin's Creed will go unsold for a few weeks more and keep getting discounted.

It's a decent game, just not as great as the hype made it out to be before it came out. It's also way repetitive..I got it for free with my ps3 I bought off ebay.

In each part, you have like 30 citizens to save, who deserve to die anyways for stealing. You have to climb every lookout post to find objectives, pickpocket some guys for info, sit on benches to listen to people talk, beat people up, aka "interrogate" them..how modern. All this while avoiding just walking normally though the streets.

The AI is also damn stupid. You often get in sword fights with like 5 soldiers, who of course take turns fighting you. Genius. If you run away, they make the effort to chase you up to the top of buildings, only to lose you once you hide in a poorly shielded roof garden.

I'm enjoying it a lot so far, I can see how it will get repetative though. Certainly above mediocre, but as Johnny says, below the hype it received.

I also got Rogue Galaxy for $19.99. It looks pretty nice for a PS2 game and I'm enjoying the storyline.
