Got an interesting story to tell. I pre-ordered the First Print edition of Bayonetta on Game.co.uk. Fast forward to release week. Game email me to say they cancelled the order for some reason. So I contacted their web chat service, and they say it was because of paypal "and you need to take it up with them as it's a problem on their end, not ours." - AKA, Not My Problemtm. I refused to accept that as an answer and tried to work something out. Asked if they could redo the order using my card instead of paypal, and they said they'll get the sale team to phone me. So, an hour goes by, and I get a call. We organize a new order for it, using my card. All goes well. Until 20 minutes later, I get 3 emails. Confirmation of order. Order being prepared. Order Cancelled. I flippin' freak out. Try to phone them back... get put on hold for 20 minutes. Gave up waiting (not a free number, so phone bill going up and up). Go back on Web Chat. Talk to the person there. Get told it was a system error and the game is out of stock. FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU. Write a hefting complaint to them and still got no response. So I gave up on Game.co.uk and ordered the Special Edition from Amazon.co.uk . It arrived the next day (thanks amazon prime!) and all is good... until my friend messages me about the Nintendo store having a Wii U "Action Pack" in stock. It has a Mario Kart 8 Wii U Bundle, Pro Controller, T-shirt and... First Print Edition Bayonetta 1+2 for £299.99 . So, of course, I go ahead and order it. A few hours later, I go back on my account on Nintendo.co.uk and look at the progress. See it's being processed now (which means its on its way to the warehouse.). Feeling pretty good at this point... Then I realize... I ordered the WRONG FUCKING BUNDLE!. There's 2 bundles on the store. One has Bayonetta 2 Standard Edition with Guide book, while the other has the First Print edition instead. I managed to order the standard one with guide book!. I find the Ask Mii service on their customer support and discuss it with someone there. They look into it and say "unfortunately, once your order is in the warehouse, it is too late to cancel. Don't open it. Contact us when it arrives and we'll arrange for a way to have it sent back to us.". And with that, I order the correct one. Today. I get an email and a text, "your DPD order will be delivered today between 2 and 4pm". Cool. I play games for a couple of hours. Get another text "Your DPD order has been delayed. We will try to get it to you by 6pm". FUUUUUUUUU. It actually arrived at 4pm, luckily. So, I open the first box. It's the First Print Edition. All is good there. Open the second box..... Bayonetta 2 game IS FUCKING MISSING! Holy Shit. Contact Nintendo Ask Mii service again. Girl on there apologizes and looks into. Talks to management, blah blah blah. Says "Unfortunately the game is currently out of stock. We will be back in touch with you within 24 hours with a resolution to your issue.". Now we wait. God dammit. FML. TL;DR: GameUK can go die in a fire. Buy your special editions or whatever on Ebay from a seller. Probably cheaper in the long run and less hassle!
Sorry to hear about the trouble you've gone through. It'll be worth it, I'm hooked right now & it's the best game I've played all year. I imported the first one & had 1000 achievement points before the western release though so a bit bias for sure. I think it looks as good or better then a lot of games I've been playing on ps4 it's really vibrant. I'm feeling pretty good about that Wii-U purchase anyway. When I was buying it the bloke serving me took a call and it was someone ringing up for Bayonetta 2. They had 2 copies left after I got mine and that was launch day and about 2-3 hours after the store opened so there might not be a wealth of copies to go around. That's the Australian double pack version I'm talking about. Thought it was cool that someone else was chasing the game that day in any case.
wish I could get the LE edition in the states. Marathon'd Bayo 1 over the weekend and the first 2 chapters of Bayo 2 were excellent.
Never even knew there was a Wii U special edition of Bayo 2 Probably because I never got a Wii U or never lived in Europe
For all the time I waited to play it I was kind of disappointed and prefer the first game. The Boss fights didn't feel as epic, I don't like her hair in this one. I don't think the music was as good. I DO like the weapons in 2 more than the first game, the chain saws just make the game completely broken and fun to go through. I think the story was OK but it felt a bit rushed the final boss was no Jubelius. I hope 3 does something with Redeeming Balder because her was awesome in this game.
