Amen to that. I could spend hours just wandering around and checking stuff out. I was overwhelmed by the size of the world. Ocarina of Time really did hit the spot, especially since back then it was all about Final Fantasy, which despite being a good game, felt really constrained. Ocarina of Time proved that almost everything is possible and it avoided everything that makes games such as Final Fantasy even today. Teenage hermaphrodites, moronic love stories, panty shots, 15 year old heroes who lost their parents, hardly ever talk and are chosen to save the world ... I kind of got that feeling playing GTA: Vice City. The game is huge, the music rocks and everything about it screams "cool". It's a whole new experience, but it's great nonetheless. I actually never finished it and I've been playing it for years now. Usually I'll just boot it, barricade myself in an Ammu Nation store and snipe heads until the military comes. As for "BEST GAME EVAAAAH!" and Gamefaqs polls ... Please. It's ALWAYS about Final Fantasy and such. I'd really like to know where Final Fantasy VII gets its cred. It's insane. Not to mention Final Fantasy VIII, which was so over-hyped ... In fact, we should have the most over-hyped game thread. I'd start with Halo 3 to get the topic going. Bungie and MS spared no expenses on the campaign. Epic ending to a trilogy? Please.
GameFAQs polls are retarded, and full of underage idiots. Oh, and more retarded fanboys that you can count. Their #1 Villain poll was Sephiroth. So much wrong with that...
And most of them haven't even played the games they're voting for. Plus, it's GameFaqs who decide the games and characters in their polls, so it just goes to show who they cater to. Ain't that the truth. But GameFaqs is, after all, a website for teenage gamers who are unable to get through the game on their own. Yo dude, I found all the secrets in Gran Turismo IV [thanks to GameFaqs]! How cool is that? What were the alternatives? Dr. Eggman, Kefka and Mr. Bison?
